RE: Why must the AAC be a full sports conference?
I actually am starting to like the AAC. I think it's a very underrated all sports conference. I just want to see my team play in environments with good atmosphere and obviously for our league to get paid. Personally, I really hope we can have that in the AAC as opposed to joining the BE or the conference breaking up. Obviously, a P5 invite is another discussion.

Completely agree. There's something nice about being in a conference of programs that get it/been screwed over/deserve much better. The accomplishments have been top-notch. If we could get paid what we deserve, I'd be quite happy here. It's all on Aresco to make it happen.

I think we will certainly get a raise. Whether we get what we deserve is another question entirely....

True. I'm just hoping the raise is closer to what we deserve than not.

The AAC is loaded with impressive markets in this league and favorable tv ratings now... This league should easily fetch no less than 6 million per on the next upcoming tv contract.

Big east is gonna be in for a real surprise when they renew it for Atlantic 10 money. They simply don't have the ratings to back their negotiations.

I'm already mentally prepared for $3-3.5 max. We still have some smaller private schools that just can't pull markets and high viewers. We also have ABC level content at times. We also have some elite hoops teams. Hard to say how bad espn needs our filler content.

The AAC has far exceeded the expectations of most rational human beings.. and just because it takes time to allow new coaches to recruit and build their programs in basketball (at Memphis, UCF, etc) we get the kneejerks coming out of the woodwork.
F U guys
Tubby Smith, Dawkins, Dunleavy, Jankovich, etc, have shown PLENTY to get excited about. It just takes time. SMU is great now but imagine how they'll be once Janks has had 3-4 years. Imagine what Dawkins will do with Tacko next year once he can surround him with more pieces.
This conference carried Cincinnati in football this year. UConn as well. Imagine if Temple and Houston said "F these guys"..
And that's in Football. Basketball has a fraction of the guys football does.
Are you joking. Plenty??? Than maybe you can name something that the teams I did not set out accomplished this year. The conference carried us in football. How? Did you watch bowl season?
im guessing if cincy loses in the first round of the tourney this year (like they do every year), they didnt carry the league??..post season isnt the only part of the league...99.999% of people dont even member our bowl record, most college football fans remember that we beat oklahoma and louisville
and yes you are in complete denial if you dont think this league carried cincy in football this year...you also havent been "nationally notable" good since the aac started
You can add Memphis beating the crap out of a ranked ole miss team, couple of seasons ago on national tv, beating BYU in a nationally televised bowl game, along with the many P5 teams that East Carolina whipped the crap out of in the past. If I left anyone out, I apologize. This conference went from, never gonna make it, to the best of the rest, and only getting better.

Just make basketball only adds to improve the overall RPI of the conference. Problem solved.

Nobody cares what you want, we have bb schools that compete and most if not all conferences care and like bb.
