2 more 3's today then he made all of last year...

Funny what confidence will do for a guy...Crazy thing is he hit 2-3 for 3 in the last game of the year last year against UConn...Just no one believed in him to tell him to keep shooting when he started out slowly.

These last 3 games, he's playing at a very high level. Coming into the season we were concerned about where points might come - outside of Dedric. Now we have 3 legit options. Makes it more difficult to game plan us.

It's not only confidence; After his flaw is his mechanics were shown to him, he said he spent so much time in the gym shooting that it felt like his arms were going to fall off. Hard work pays off in most cases. He listens and works his butt off. A rare combination in today's game. As I said earlier, he really doesn't have the skills to play SG in NBA; following is a link to a list of SGs in NBA (so many great players):

http://www.espn.com/nba/players/_/position/sg

He and Dedric have carried us for the most part these past 5-6 games. KJ has bad shot selection and is playing really bad D. Need all three of those guys playing well to beat teams we shouldn't beat.

He's been more aggressive on offense (due in part to coaching) and he's finally living up to his potential. He's an elite athlete, a great defender, a decent-enough ball-handler, and has solid short mechanics...he just lacked confidence.

He's got to keep it up, but if he does watch out...

15 pts. on 51% shooting, 33% from 3 and 80% from the line...3rd on the team in RPG. 4th is APG. 2nd in SPG.

He has the tools to make the league. Age will be a negative factor, but if he can continue to shoot & score efficiently while defending and rebounding at a high level...he'll get some looks with his athleticism and solid frame.

Markel will play somewhere other than the NBA

Overseas, NBDL

I think that's probably true of everyone on the roster.

He is simply tearin' it up. Great to see. With the way he's shooting it, I'd like to see him get a few more looks. Dedric is obviously going to be option 1, but Markel should get a few more touches, imo.

@JasonSmith929

Markel Crawford's last 3 games:

Tulane (not done): 24 pts (8-11 FGs)
UConn: 19 pts (9-12 FGs)
SCarolina: 28 pts (9-13 FGs)

26-36FGs/72.2%

I think he's just letting the game come to him really. You don't see him forcing many shots or taking chances he shouldn't. Playing very smart basketball on both ends right now. Both with confidence.

I think that's partly it...but he's definitely looking for his opportunities on the offensive end. That's a change from previous seasons

and coach TS told him to quit looking at the ball and focus on rim . It helps when you look at your target .
