All in good fun. I could see Charlotte in the AAC one day.

Who knows? We have the market, just need to get some seasons under our belt and hopefully a more competent AD. Best of luck this upcoming season.

In the heart of Nashville (and throughout the Mid South); a far greater number of folks will watch Televised FB involving the four teams you just bashed than will ever give a crap about Tulane. Unless Memphis, or Houston, or Cincy is steamrolling the Green Wave, for the umpteenth time; then we might flip the channel for about 10 seconds to check on your Superior Opponents!!!

Ehhhh----I think what their saying is even CUSA football will move the needle when the needle is currently only averaging 19,000 viewers (19K is the current average number of viewers watching BeIn Sports during the day).
The average CUSA game was getting viewership numbers around 70K-100K. That's 4 or 5 times what BeIn's current programming is averaging. A good game CUSA might get 10-20 times BeIn's current average viewership of 19K. Twenty times 19K is 380k. CUSA had a few games hit that range or above. Given that BeIn is only paying a million or two---its a no brainer. The reality is, as CUSA fans add the channel to watch their favorite team, the increase in their subscriber base alone will likely make the deal a good one for the network.
Some very interesting stats there. Even with CUSA games their viewership would be at least 10 times than it is now, its a win - win for both.
While BEIN isn't going to make in-roads with the Big 10 and other P5 conferences since they have the BTN, this is the first opportunity for them to start to make a push for some domestic programming and increase their viewership to get more popular on cable packages.
They will be a player down the road for other G5 conferences. Maybe not for first tier games but for 2nd tier they could be a better option than Root Sports for the MW.
If ASN makes a serious push out west, they will also be a player for conferences out west (Big Sky, MW, WAC, Summit..)
My experience with ASN is extremely limited, however the one game Temple had on ASN last season was a basketball game vs Tulane at Tulane. It’s weird to me because the game was on ESPN3 but it was produced by ASN. I have to admit the ASN production value and announcers were much better than the normal ESPN3 product and even though it’s a limited sample size I was impressed with ASN.
FYI. It looks like the ASN 24 hr channel will on the CW station sub channel. 35.2
Currently has color bars for the past week, but the info it shows is the ASN network.

That could be.
Here is the official announcement from BeIN Sports.
http://www.wbko.com/content/sports/beIN-...09051.html
"beIN SPORTS’ coverage of Conference USA will feature 10 football games with conference rivalries, as well as nonconference matchups. The network will also air 10 men’s and 10 women’s basketball games. As part of the long-term deal, the programming lineup will include 12 games of Conference USA’s baseball schedule as well as 12 women’s softball events, 10 men’s and 10 women’s soccer matches, and 0 women’s volleyball games."
Not sure if the volleyball games is a typo or just to inform that no volleyball will be on this channel.
EDIT: the article is a typo. 10 volleyball games will be broadcasted by beIN.

Isn't BeIN's main channel in Spanish...and not HD. Please tell me yes...I'd just love to watch that unfold.

Not sure if it is the main one, but the English channel from what I hear is mostly SD on some cable systems, but HD on Sling and Playstation Vue and the beIN Sports.com /app.
That may change with the new CUSA and other domestic sports they are now sign of for so I think they'll get those to HD mostly.

So let's see. CUSA has an 8 game conference schedule with 14 teams, so 8 x 7 = 56 conference games plus let's say 2 nonconference home games per school, for another 2 x 14 = 28. 28 + 56 = 84 games. ESPN has the first 5 games, CBS-SN bought games 6-10, BeIn has 10 games, ASN is planning on 15-20. That's.....40 games max. So half of their games are dark? Wow.

Main feed is English, they have a secondary Spanish feed and HD/SD is dependent on your provider like always

The soccer part has me intrigued, since our marches rarely get tv at ESPN, is it possible that we can license/sublicense a block of the matches to BeIN like we do with CBSSN and Baseball?

My purely message board educated prediction is that ASN gets the bulk with ESPN3 simulcasts. Sadly, that and $.02 won't even get you a cup of coffee. I'm moderately surprised that BeIN even mentions OOC games as I figure ESPN and CBSSN will gobble those up...FCS?

I wonder if ESPN3 is going to play a role in the roughly 50% of CUSA games that are looking at no coverage right now. If not, you're looking at local television--- or maybe some sort of CUSA Digital Network coverage.

There is supposed to be a new digital partner. Perhaps Campus Insiders will be showing the rest? Maybe some combination of school produced games for ESPN 3.

The past 2 years asn has carried every game not picked up elsewhere.

Well at least they get 1/5 to 1/4 of what AAC does, and 1/2 of Mac. Clearly they are our equals..

Not your equals, but in the eyes of the P5 we are both sh!t. Honestly don't see the need for folks to constantly berate/belittle each other given we are both G5. Sure, AAC gets more $$ but we're both riding on the short bus.
