A good call, but early on few knew about all the voting problems. After that surfaced the entire vote was tainted. What we will end up with is something in the middle.

Not this year though. Old rule remains in effect while the council takes time to study different options.

RE: Satellite camps aren't completely dead yet - UPDATED BAN LIFTED
Not surprisingly, Arkansas State immediately announced all of their camps are back on. We had been quietly taking registrations earlier anyway, so many are full.

So how will this effect camps? Will schools be able to reschedule in time.
The question reflects how people don't understand the camps.
Arkansas State doesn't go rent a field in Mississippi or Texas and send out notices to local high school kids.
We go to a camp Ole Miss has already scheduled and promoted and we will call up kids we are interested in and tell them to go.
We don't go rent a field in the DFW area, we work with another school that has a camp there (think Tarleton) and we let kids in the area we are interested in know about it.
At the Ole Miss camp, getting seen by Ole Miss is the draw for the kids.
At the camps with smaller schools, they tell the kids they want to lure in that an FBS staff will be there so it makes the kids more interested in attending. Same deal GaSt and Penn State had. GaSt is still building their brand, telling kids Penn State will be there draws more registrations.
Getting the camps back on is no big deal at all because all those camps were going to happen, only thing changing is now some outside coaches will be part of the mix.

We should just open a satellite campus there.

So now Michigan is coming to USA. Haven't really thought a lot about the pros and cons of satellite camps, but my first impression is that I don't care for it too much.

Why not. If Michigan wants a player usually other P5' s want him too. Doubt if USA or most G5' s are going to get him. But it might bring in other guys that will take a look at USA.

We lost a commit from FL last year to Michigan.

Sorry, but maybe we do it differently. I think we hold our own camps around Ga and maybe Fl. We don't go to bigger schools, at least I don't think so. Your school doesn't host any instate camps?

Perfectly happy for us to go to help out at P5 camps. Wouldn't be thrilled with P5 coming to our camps. Would not mind FCS and DII coming to our camps to help out.

Actually we do host our own camps (mentioned frequently) we do camps in Jonesboro, Little Rock, NW Arkansas (Rogers this year I believe) and Texarkana. All lower division in-state schools are invited to attend.

Fine, but the previous made it sound like you guys just relied on other school camps and piggy backed on them. Again it may not be a huge deal, but it could effect the number of players attending with the shorter notice or if a school has to rebook a venue to hold the camp.

You just weren't paying attention Chiefsfan and I both mentioned our camps several times and how we invited other schools to participate.
