That's a shame. Really hate to lose this kid and i think he may be pulling the plug prematurely. Work harder, play more!

Just speculation here, but I think he saw the writing on the wall when Ambrose Mosley entered the picture. Even if he'll only be here for 1 year, the "pure shooter" role will clearly be Mosley's to lose.
Matthews does more than just shoot, but his minutes would not be set to increase dramatically until his Junior season when Mosley, Flemmings and Ingram would all be gone. I guess he didn't want to wait that long.

That's a losers mentality. Work harder, get better than the other guys!

What do you mean that UNCW tops the list? Looks like you have only 3. Teams like Missouri (6), SEMO (7), Robert Morris (6) top the list.

At the time, Matthews was the first name on the list, since he was the most recent. I think that's what he meant.

RE: NCAA D1 Basketball Transfers
I hate to see Mark go as well. I think he has a lot to offer and in time he would have been an integral part in the program. I hate to say this because it makes me sound old, but some kids today want instant satisfaction / gratification. But greatness takes time and if they have the patience then greatness will come as long as they are willing to work. Coack Keatts knows what it takes to win and the new recruits will have to be fully invested in his ideas / vision to be successful.

I will miss Mark. Don't understand his comment about not given a chance to prove himself. From what I saw, he was given the chance and lost his confidence on shooting the three. I really thought he would overcome that and be an integral part in the success of our program. I could see he had the ability and was pulling for him.

RE: NCAA D1 Basketball Transfers
UNCW has a ton of transfers on the roster right now and that is how it works these days-like or not. Hard to call the kid a quitter when your own team has players that did exactly the same thing he is now doing. He has some talent or I doubt that he would have ever been here period.
I also think it is telling that Mosley.a kid kicked off his own team is now welcomed here without even a hint of skepticism. I don't think they should reward a player like this.

I have no idea what he did in other games, but there's no way you can call him "mediocre". Definitely one of the 3 or 4 best players on the court that day, and right up there with Rokas Gustys as one of the top big men we faced all year.
HE averaged 8.2 points per game, that's the definition of mediocre. 33, his brothers had much much better college careers, that's apples to oranges.
And now it's time for America's favorite game: Pick a Plumlee!

Haha. The only question missing was "Overrated prospect that played at Duke and averaged a whopping 8.2 points per game"

I apologize. Did not pick up that you literally meant the player was on the top of the list. Carry on.

With all of the transfers/graduates, I have no clue who will be the Favorites or atleast top 4.
Ps Berry is going to Florida is a great move for him and Allen From Drexel is going to UCF :(

RE: NCAA D1 Basketball Transfers
Delaware can add Jeffers to the transfer list. Now have only 4 scholarship players and 3 walkons for next year including 2 players who redshirted last year (3 seniors (2 on scholarship), 1 Junior on scholarship, 3 Sophs (1 on scholarship)). If they win a game in conference next year, the team that loses should feel really bad.
