I hear he is trying to get in at UNCW but might be able to get in school. Either way-I don't get it,full ride.playing time and a very good team.

Or lack of offers? Who knows. I wouldn't bet on him being back next year though.

Getty's isn't coming back. He's not participating in any basketball related workouts at UNCW any longer...

Looks like you all just picked up another Hargrave kid in Wichita State PG transfer Ty Taylor.

RE: NCAA D1 Basketball Transfers
Looks like Keatts is willing to stack the lineup with guards and see who shakes out.
Also looks like he's content with Bryan, Cacock, Elmore, Grundy and Flemmings in our 4/5 spots, with a great deal of hope that Elmore can play meaningful minutes out of the gate.
This year at guard:
Flemmings, Ingram, Ambrose - Sr
Talley - Jr.
Richmond, Bryce Matthews - So
Fornes - Fr.
After Ingram graduates our guards will be:
Talley - Sr
Richmond, Bryce, Matthews- Jr
Taylor, Fornes - Soph.

I don't get it. We have to have some bigs! Going that thin in bigs regardless of whether or not we like them is one injury away from being disastrous!

Would you rather give a scholarship to a D-I caliber guard or a D-II caliber big man? That's likely the tradeoff there. I imagine we'll have 1 or 2 walk-on big men who make their way onto the roster to give us bodies.

So you are telling me that of the 400+ transfers there is not 1 D1 level big man?

The number is less than 100 when you look at available PF/C's out there, but I get your point. Problem is that there needs to be mutual interest. Meanwhile there's no guarantee our roster is set right now. We'll see what happens.

I really think Elmore could help scoring wise on offense but you have to think a big man coming into D1 basketball from low level high school play could struggle to defend. I think they need some help but I also like Cacock and think he could be terrific defensively,so maybe it works.

I agree Mullet, little known fact though: Elmore led the UA Circuit, top 5, last year in blocks and rebounds. That is National level talent and he held his own pretty good on D.

That's nice, i still don't put a whole lot of stock in that. College hoops is much different than what is essentially pick up games. A big man in those types of games just waits in the paint for a guard to come at him and collects block. Nobody plays much D.

I put stock in Keatts. I may look at some things and wonder where are we going with these pickups. But Keatts has had a game plan from day one and it has paid off so far. I think, for now, we need to relax and sit back and see how it all shakes out.
