Yep, we need to get geared up for that first round exit.
I'll take the positive road - Kedren got 10 minutes last night and he has experience navigating a team to a conference tourney title.
It's amazing that we've given Kedren so little playing time this year. With our musical chairs game at PG we've had a 1st year grad transfer, 2 true freshmen, and a walk-on who hasn't played competitive basketball in 3 years yet we won't play Kedren.

Having said that, they hit insanely difficult shots and got enough easy ones against some defensive lapses to win. And I'm not blaming the refs, but a couple of calls that seemed off hurt us, and you know I'm not the one to blame the refs.
Having said that, we didn't have luck last night, but you gotta find a way to win games like that. I get how frustrating it is to have guys just not miss, but at some point, the coaching staff has to change the calculus.
Odd thing is the team looked pretty good at times. One of our odd losses where I felt pretty good about the game until late. Honestly, if we're 19-5 and not 14-10, this is the sort of game you shrug and move on with, but we needed this one bad and even if this loss was understandable from a shots/refs/luck perspective, sometimes you just have to not take another loss.
Understandable on some level, but too many understandable losses are still too many losses.
I think the problem is most folks don't realize that the line between winning and losing for most DI programs is a pretty fine one...so you can say the other team did this, refs that, etc...
Main point is, this team could've won, but didn't.
Seems to be a recurring theme and not a one game aberration.
Yep. This sort of 'bad luck' defense is completely acceptable a few times a year, but it's too early to discuss double digit losses. This will be our worst year in recent memory.

This is some high level analysis of why the game broke the way it did.
I only saw about the last 5 minutes of the game but the replays on the news kind of told the story to me. The Tiger guards were not guarding the perimeter. They were running from 15 ft. away at the shooter on almost every 3 pointer they showed on the sports report. Any team could shoot almost that well when they are wide open. That's why the Cougars shot almost 70 percent in the second half. Josh obviously picked up the philosophy of NEVER USE A ZONE no matter what from Calipari like it was some kind of weakness.

He used zone in the 2nd half, that's where they got those mid-range jumpers and offensive rebounds at.

Would be great if he noticed these things during games.
I don't get why people keep saying things like this. He's the same sorry coach with the same problems he's had his entire time here. He hasn't checked out; he's just a bad coach.
