RE: Rivalry Games
For ODU i don't see anyone in the conference close to being called a rival but that should change soon. When we think about this LaTech and MT comes to mind. Former because we hate any school with snot licking punk nose dog as mascot, later because they denied us the white uniform request and thus jinxed the white out we planned for the TV game. I can see Charlotte(game cancellation just before the start of the season) and Marshall becoming our Rivals sooner than later with the proximity etc.

I can see MT and ODU becoming rivals. Especially in the realm of basketball.

RE: Rivalry Games
We have no rivals we love everyone, but the closest if you could call it that is Enemas U. (nmsu). It's not much of a rivalry and it's only because they are so close and are not loved (hate is a strong word). I think we have a 7 or 8 year consecutive win record over them so it's not much of a rivalry.

Worded poorly, think he meant each of us would turn into rivalries for them.

Just curious why that would matter to you personally but the longest running history of two teams in this conference is only recently of relevance to you?
And let's not be coy. You guys hate us too.
I'm not really old enough to know about any of that past either, but would venture to say that without that history the rivalry wouldn't be nearly as much fun today without it. Just my two cents.
Two totally different things. My sig is about my school's athletic accomplishments. The reason MTSU is only recently relevant to me, as I stated before, is because I've only been exposed to MTSU in football as a conference mate in the few short years that WKU has been FBS. Before 6 years ago, WKU and MTSU hadn't played football at the same level and in the same conference for 35 years which was a few years before I entered WKU as a freshman. Remember, I said "to me personally".
Also, I didn't say that WKU fans don't hate MTSU. I stated a reason you're a rival is because your fans hate us. That's typically a cornerstone of considering someone a rival. If ya'll loved us, it'd be difficult to consider you a rival.
Fair enough. Makes sense.

Tech and USM - half the family are Tech folks and the other half are USM
Tech and UNT - if UNT football was ever any good I think we might have a good regional rivalry as well
Tech and Rice - nice to be back in a conference with a team that we'd developed a consistent series with

I can't wait to see the ODU v. Marshall game. ODU will become the Auburn of CUSA --Very unpredictable! Sometimes you think we will lose and you will be right, other times you will be wrong and we will win games that will make people mad! This year Marshall fans will see a very different ODU team and I'd advise them to not let their guard down!

USM and Rice. Although I have trouble mustering much rivalry hate for either; both are just good fans. UTSA is fun to beat. They needed a little humility to remind them every team has highs and lows at the big boy level. Oddly enough....Fresno and Nevada are still the teams that produce an emotional response to punch someone in the throat. I hated those guys.

Marshall hates us because we spoiled their access bowl chances last year.
MTSU historically hates us. Like the Hatfield's and McCoy's, it goes back so many years no one really remembers what started it.
Louisiana Tech hates everybody
It should be a fun year on the gridiron in this conference. I'm looking forward to the Tops playing in historic Rice Stadium, but that game is not rival-worthy as of yet.

Unless you traded in both your offensive and defensive lines or they grew 5-7 inches and put on 35-50 pounds each then I see this years game going similar to last years game.

Rivalry Games
If you are so bold as to merely step on the field with us, you are our rival.
For sixty minutes, anyway. Then: prepare to be dismissed.
Wagner. Highest ranked academic institution to send a team to play at Rice Stadium this season. Fun fact: also the lowest ranked football team to come to R house. Rice 222 Wagner 0.
Texas. Used to be pretty good. Probably will be again in a couple years. Not there yet. We will rock you like a hurricane. Rice 34, UT 13.
North Texas. The "other" Texas. Playing UNT at Apogee, you will find Rice at perigee (b$&<£3s). Rice 49 North Texas 8.
Baylor, another squad that used to be pretty dang good. Well, guess what, Baylor, 2014 called and they wanted their one-half of a true champion-ship back. Close game but Rice 25 da bears 20.
Western Kentucky strolls into H-town and truth be told could be more inside track to the Access bowl bid than Rice. Until we wipe that smirk off big Big Red's red face. Owls 42, tops 28.
FAU Owls. Hoo Dat indeed. FlaTlantic will prove to be more prey than predator on this day of the owl. Rice 21, FAU 3.
Army cadets. There have been schools who've left CUSA to chase the next big TV contract or champagne wishes and BCS dreams. But these guys just wanted to take their toys and go home. Special props to these fine young men but Rice will win the day. 35-24.
Ah, La Tech. You guys already pointed out its our turn. Sure you could hang 70 again but we'll score more. 91-73. Yes we are still talking football.
UTEP - Dave Campbell asked if we are both ready for the national stage? In the Miners' case, that would be a "no". UTEP sticks around for the first half but the Owls pull away: 38-18.
USM. I love a good homecoming opponent. The Golden Eagles are supposed to be much better this year. However "much better" might amount to bowl eligibility and six wins. Of which: this game will not be one. Rice 41, USM 20.
University of Texas at San Antonio. Fun fact: Rice has an even better record at the Alamodome than at Rice Stadium. We continue to enjoy our "home away from home" to the tune of 24-13.
Regular season finale is at home against Charlotte.
Okay, that ones not a rivalry, sorry guys. We win anyway - 66-12.
Conference championship against 8-0 Marshall. Game is played at Rice based on the fifth tiebreaker (longest time since hosting conference title game, sorry kids you hosted last year). 28-24 Owls in 90 degree December weather.
National semifinal against 4-Way big 12 champion TCU. In a defensive struggle Rice wins 6 to negative 3.
National Final against #1 Alabama. We've never lost to these guys and aren't about to now. 28-6 Rice.
And that's it.
We may be nerds but we'll still kick your a$$.
