All time winning % against current CUSA teams
Just out of curiosity, decided to look up how current conference members have played against other current conference members all-time. Didn't bother with ties.
Marshall 35-15 .700
Rice 33-20 .623
USM 55-44 .555
FAU 29-24 .547
Middle 63-53 .543
UNT 45-44 .505
La Tech 49-48 .505
ODU 4-4 .500
WKU 46-56 .451
UTSA 7-9 .438
FIU 19-31 .380
UTEP 25-45 .365
Charlotte 0-0 .000
Nothing really shocking. USM obviously impacted by the last 3-4 years, UTEP lower than I thought they would be, same with La Tech. FAU higher than I would have guessed.

Glad to see MT has played the most games against other conference foes. We have history! Woohoo!

Well, you have 63 games against WKU, which I believe is the most played series in the new conference alignment of CUSA. Next closest is probably USM and La Tech.

What about all time winning %? I'd be interested to see those numbers. Agh Depts usually have that info in the media guides.

It's ODU. They're 4th overall.

Tech lost a bunch of games to Southern Miss in the 1940's and 50's. We are 38-24 (.613) since 1970.

I still consider Southern Miss synonymous with success and CUSA.

Yeah, it's those early USM games that hurt us. We're like 15-30ish against them. The only other CUSA team with a winning record against us is. . . ODU at 0-1. We're tied with Marshall and Rice.

Interesting that Rice and LaTech are tied in total points, also.
Especially since every game is a huge blowout one way or the other

Even more interesting is that we usually blow each other out. It's never really a close game.
2002: 37-20, Rice
2003: 49-14, Rice
2004: 51-14, Tech
2012: 56-37, Tech
2013: 52-14, Rice
2014: 76-31, Tech
2004 was a 62 point swing from the 2003 game.
2013 was a 57 point swing from the 2012 game.
2014 was a 83 point swing from the 2013 game.

.361 for UAB. Yack. We've got a better record than that against current members of the Belt and the AAC.

Yep. Then we'll break the tie with Marshall on 12-05-15.
In Ruston.

We are 1-23 in our last 24 conference games. Still 11 over .500.

RE: All time winning % against current CUSA teams
First thing that came to mind from this thread:
Rice vs C-USA all-time: 33-20 (.623)
Rice vs Everyone Else all-time: 429–560–32 (.420)
Kinda puts Rice's recent "success" under this coaching staff in perspective.
Rice probably needs to focus on fixing the record against the "Everyone Else" part of the schedule for most national college football fans to start taking notice.
Rice will have 2 chances this season against Texas on Sept 12 and Baylor on Sept 26, 2015. Kudos to the schedulers of those two games.
The other 2 non-conference games for Rice this season are against Wagner (of the FCS level Northeast Conference) and Army (FBS Independent and perennial cellar dweller), wins against will not likely impress anyone unfortunately, regardless of score, but losses against (a la Rice's embarrassing 14-16 loss to FCS-level Nicholls State of the Southland Conference to open the 2007 season under present Rice Head Coach David Bailiff) would continue the narrative of "same ol' Rice" for another season. Hopefully we can break out and finally beat Texas or Baylor or maybe even both this year to make a little noise for a change.

Agreed, Wagner and Army are expected Ws if this team even wants to think about 8 or 9 wins this season. We may not defeat UT, but we need to at least stick around with them for the majority of the game and not play with them for two quarters before getting murdered in the third quarter and beyond. Baylor will be much more of a herculean task than UT (boy, do those words feel strange rolling off the tongue). Either way, I think we know Karlgaard is done with contract extensions for Bailiff until he can show he can compete with Top 50 teams for an entire game / upset a quality P5 team (Purdue and Kansas are not those) AND continue to be an upper echelon C-USA team (which probably means at least one or two appearances in the conference championship game over the next three seasons and maybe another conference title).
