RE: UAb update, cause what else we gonna talk about
You could say UAb and their fans got the shaft on this one, however, they had 20 years to gain traction in this city, and all the fans did was complain and say the reason they didn't go to the games was due to feeling unsafe at Legion Field.
I'm not saying they ran through road block after road block and bad coaching hires and all that crap, but had a donor come forward 3-5 years ago, this wouldn't be an issue.

PERHAPS unfortunately, I'm pretty certain the answer is YES.
PERHAPS it's wishful thinking...maybe not...it would be tantamount to claiming you got lucky, but you just took advantage of the drunk girl in the bathroom passed out. I guess getting in any way you can is satisfying to some.
FIRST, I know what I'm talking about. SECOND, I'm perfectly happy right here in the conference we founded. THIRD, I really don't care if you believe any of those statements either.

I think if USA left the Belt for coosa, it would be a case of jumping outta the frying pan into the fire

If left up to me, if anyone were to replace UAB in C-USA from the Belt, should that be the case, South Alabama would be my first choice, Market size, proximity to Mississippi Southern, like UAB it's still in Alabama, new stadium proposed, even if they're still at Ladd-Pebbles it's a good CUSA size venue, I think makes a good case for the Jags. I know there have been sympathy on here for the UAB fan base, but really why ? Other than human nature and empathy, the dominoes will fall, and they'll either be replace or they won't. Life goes on. If they are replace by USA, that just makes room for JSU in the Belt.
If Georgia State got the invite instead, that might make the case for newbie Kennesaw State in Georgia. The small stadium argument is pretty much invalidated if CCU gets in the Belt . Fifth Third Bank Stadium also has an expandable capacity to 20K. Anyway, life goes on Blazers or not.

I've said it before and I'll say it over and over again. If a conference wants another App St, GaSo type add, JSU needs to be the next in line.

Most people think JSU is in Florida so they can get away with it.

If we moved to C-USA I just can't see anyone getting fired up to go out to Ladd to see the F-U's, the UNT's, the UTSA's, ODU, Charlotte, etc. I'm not saying the SBC is full of marquee names but damn, who's left in C-USA who'd draw any better than our SBC brethren? There are so many more SBC teams within easy driving distance than there are in C-USA.
If I could wave a magic wand Southern Miss and La Tech would be in our conference but aside from them, I just don't see any huge boost for USA joining C-USA *unless* they end up with some killer TV deal nobody really expects them to land anyway. I'm seriously rooting for UAB to get their crap together QUICKLY so all this speculation crappola would just go away for good.

Add UAB. Only then, would I only consider moving. Since the Jags haven't been issued an invitation the point is moot. Other than those 3 the SBC rivals are much more interesting.

Easy fix, we drop NMSU and Idaho, we persuade USM, LaTech and Marshall to join us in the SBC. Then we are at a 12/14 lineup. It's just so much better then what CUSA is these days.

If you are volunteering to negotiate their entry I suggest that you start with a trip to Ruston to negotiate with LaTech. If you can't get them, you can't get the other two.
Be sure to take a ULM Warhawk with you to help make your case. Good luck!

I don't know if you've noticed the nature of the college football landscape of late, but change has been the one constant . . . . IMO, the "speculation crappola ain't goin' away anytime soon". . . . Regardless of what UAB does.

The thing about it is we don't need anybody to come to "draw" we "draw" just fine no matter who comes. If you have to depend on your opponent to bring alot of people to your stadium, I think you are probably in trouble over the long run....Just my $0.02

It definitely is ridiculous. However, I think that 2$ million is going to be met. Still, it makes you realize just how many obstacles they're going to place in our way.
I don't see how any entity could agree to do 5 year donations starting on January 1st 2016 and then bump that deadline up by 4 months and only give you a 2 weeks notice before the new due date. It's insane that this is still happening.
