If we make this all about polar opposites it's really too simplistic, but here goes anyway: Let's just say it starts with the posi posters reacting to what's known as the negative nellies, which in turn causes the posi-people to fight back. Sometimes the more protective posters on both sides will stand up in the name of all who have been beaten down. Everyone lives on the edge of reactions...pretty much, because of what has come before.
Every once in a while, though, both sides run out of energy simultaneously, and there is a lull. Not for long. Someone will start a thread to rile one side up again, or someone will take a thread and reform it to his own agenda. Maybe this is not done purposely. Maybe the fact that there is no resolution keeps driving people to do the same
thing over and over...I dunno. I had one psychology class in college.
This situation could also be explained like this: The highly reactive ones react to whatever until the reactions intensify and we are the serpent eating its own tail.

RE: Despite everything, THIS is what will be Pastner's undoing.
Who cares if the money didn't "originate" from Josh. Does it ever "originate" from the coach? That's not how these things work... there are always "money guys" who handle these situations FOR the coach & the school.
I'm not saying that Josh missing on Skal was a direct "failure" on Pastner's part...but it would've changed everything if we landed him.
RE: Despite everything, THIS is what will be Pastner's undoing.
If Josh can make it to the NCAAT and advance to the second weekend my thinking as of now he will be retained and get several more years.
The problem I have with this is I don’t see him becoming a good coach anytime soon and possibly never. With all of the faults he has allowed to snowball and go uncorrected over the years, plus his stubbornness to adapt and find solutions has brought me to this conclusion.
For 3 years I was behind him 100% and took some flak for it. Maybe this is a bad example but for some reason he now sorta reminds me of the leader clan in the book “Animal Farm”. They were stubborn too and slowly changing into the very ones they wished to defeat in the first place.

All he has to do is make the tourney now. Our expectations have changed. Well that's all "some" of the big money folks care about anyway.

Lol, man I can smoke All Along The Watchtower. It’s one of the first Hendrix songs I decided to learn (1969?) because people here wanted to hear it. Did it at Memphis in May a few years ago with my black Strat & Marshall 1959SL full stack raked… (everything on 10).
Good times & music back then. My kids were amazed because for years they listened to me play everyday at home. They had never heard me play for REAL in a real in-concert outdoor environment.

One line fits the Josh Pastner era : "there's got to be some kinda way outta here"
