Not that I'm biased or anything, but I agree. Third youngest team in the country came together when the conference season started and figured things out.

I'd give it to haase. Jones would be my runner up.

We're pretty happy with what Mike Rhoades has done his first year at Rice too. But hopefully he can do even better next year and win it then.

USM coach should get it just for beating UTEP with 4 scholarship players.

Picked to finish dead last in conference, instead finishing in the middle of the pack with a lot of close losses. As a fan, I wouldn't trade Rhoades for anyone else. Rice lost its top 2 scorers and had a few years of fairly unimpressive recruiting classes, but he's somehow rubbed two pennies together and turned it into 50 cents. Next season he'll be rubbing a dime and a quarter together, I'm excited to see what it will turn into.

Rhoades has done well. Shame he didn't have obi to work with.

RE: Who will win men's coach of the year?
I don't think he deserves CUSA coach of the year, but D'Antoni has taken a team that started CUSA play 0-6 (and 4-15 overall) to an 11-18 (7-9) record as of today. We've gone 7-3 since then. We finished 4-12 in CUSA last year with quite a bit more talent. There has been considerable improvement on this team. I'm glad to see that this staff can coach and improve a college program. The next big task will come with recruiting.

UAB's coach should be a lock for CUSA COY with what he did in conference play with an extremely young team...We need to keep UAB Basketball!

I have to agree.
People also need to consider that he's having this much success while the biggest athletic distraction ever is taking place on UAB's campus.

There have been some good coaching jobs in C-USA this season. White will rightfully get at least a couple votes.

No....really.
Okay, he doesn't actually deserve the award but you won't find a coach who has gotten more out of his team.
Unfortunately, he'll probably have to keep coaching his ass off to scratch out a few wins over the next few years.

Sean Obi wouldn't have wanted to work hard enough in the preseason conditioning. I'm glad he left with that attitude, and to be honest, I think he'll be a complete bust at Duke. If I'm wrong, feel free to re-post this and give me hell at that point.

ah, I didn't know Obi had that reputation. I just knew he was a solid player on the court. I was impressed with his performance last season.
I don't care enough to give you hell. Obi and what he does at Duke is of little concern to me.

Alan Major. He is the only one who has done anything noteworthy.

Southern Miss has already won 3 more conference games than I thought they would. I'll just say that.
