Yeah, well, they need to keep football.

One is wholly dependent on the other.

I came with 3-4 before I knew about the DT debacle.

Doc has done a helluva job motivating the players that are left.

Yup. After that Jackson State game I said...."we might win one at some point."

I was dead serious about my comment on USM's coach for COY - I'd love to be in the locker room to hear his motivation talk at half time or before the game. I got to watch about 3 USM games this year - their players played their heart out on the floor - reminded me of Tech team in White's first year here.

I agree. I mean...there was a game earlier in the season where we finished with FOUR PLAYERS and still only lost in overtime.

There are only 3.....maybe possibly iffy 4 (Millinghaus is a maybe) D-1 players on our team. The rest should be playing for NAIA cross-town team William Carey.

From what ive seen when ive been around Doc, he probably had them about to piss themselves laughing at something he said.
someone last week ask him what he tells recruits. He said the only way a freshman could play more would be to have been in We are Marshall.

Picked to finish dead last in conference, instead finishing in the middle of the pack with a lot of close losses. As a fan, I wouldn't trade Rhoades for anyone else. Rice lost its top 2 scorers and had a few years of fairly unimpressive recruiting classes, but he's somehow rubbed two pennies together and turned it into 50 cents. Next season he'll be rubbing a dime and a quarter together, I'm excited to see what it will turn into.

So is Rhodes your pick?

We've gone 7-3 since then. We finished 4-12 in CUSA last year with quite a bit more talent. There has been considerable improvement on this team. I'm glad to see that this staff can coach and improve a college program. The next big task will come with recruiting.

So who is your pick?

Is COY picked before the conference tourney or after it?

RE: Who will win men's coach of the year?
1) Jerod Haase
2) Michael White
3) Jeff Jones (easy to forget his team is only two years removed from a 5-win season)

I believe Mike White has a real shot at CUSA COY because --for the most part-- he took a team that was picked in the preseason to finish first, and didn't disappoint. It's hard to play a whole season with a target on your back. White's team can still --and likely will-- finish 1st in league play. Any coach that does that thru a grueling 18 game conference schedule deserves SERIOUS consideration for COY.

I dunno. I still think Haase has a good chance of getting it unless UAB bombs these next 2 away games. UAB was preseason picked 8th or 9th and are guaranteed to be top 4 and possibly 2nd overall. We were a possession away from being the #1 seed this year. I don't know many teams that would have been okay losing their leading scorer in the offseason (Chad Frazier, 17.7PPG) and still manage a top 2 finish with mainly freshmen and sophomores. Youngest team in CUSA by far.

UAB's starting 5 is entirely different than it was in 2013-2014.

I have watched more bb this year than I ever have. While I agree there are some good coaches, coach white should win it hands down. Yea, everyone expected tech to be good but winning the conference should get him the hardware. I know I am going to catch hell from UAB and ODU fans but coach white is the best coach in CUSA.
