It's the UA Board of Trustees - to them it's Tuscaloosa uber alles. What they don't realize is that what they are doing to UAB and UAH is going to come back and bite Tuscaloosa in the butt.
What if the end result would be that UAB could restart football and build an OCS on the condition they play FCS football. Would the support still be there? Or would the university decline?
Our fan base, donors, boosters, cheerleaders, mascot, etc., have compromised with these bastards enough. Compromise to a point becomes surrender. No more, sir. It's truly a political take no prisoners scenario now, their vision of what they think UAB should be is not reflective of Gene Bartow's, therefore, not of mine or the majority of Blazer Nation...They can kiss our collective a#&-: after what they did to our football program, then offer up our bowling and rifle teams as sacrifices in the process? It's very personal now...Stay tuned, events are unfolding...Free UAB.

It will be FBS. There's no way Coach Clark stays other wise. When & if the reinstatement of football occurs, we expect multiple plans for facility improvements to begin. We aren't taking no for an answer.
Look I don't want to see any program get the ax, even if would benefit mine. But as it stands right now UAB is shut down, really politically assassinated, but if the only offer on the table would be that you get your OCS and football back at the FCS level would they take the deal or stay shuttered?
Then we've done a very good football coach and person in Bill Clark a huge disservice and disgraced the memory and legacy of Gene Bartow if those concessions are accepted...What will the next price for our compromise be afterwards? I will not buy in to that, I'm gone if that happens. Believe that!

Direct Communications never uses the word "football." They have no intention to compromise in any way. Drawing conference maps is a wasted exercise. They have contacted no conferences and have no plans to do so (else they'd be touting that as part of their PR plan).
This is a political war. Their words, not ours. We fight.
This. No retreat, no surrender, no (bleeping) compromise.

So, Watts' vision of UAB Forward is to declare "war" on his students, alumni, donors, faculty and business community. How can this be tolerated? Clay Ryan is in the room wasting good peoples time who sincerely want change and football back and he is the guy who is choreographing the "WAR", this must be changed. Watts is not at all sincere and we have proof all of this was a plan to win their WAR against us the supporters.
Borrowed from Old Dragon.
This. How the leader of a university declare "war" on its students, alumni, faculty, etc.. Dysfunctional does not even begin to describe this situation.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How does he think he can possibly win going against his constituents (students & faculty)? He's an administrator, not a king, and even kings who ignore their subjects are short-lived.
The UAB students should organize an ongoing protest outside his office, ala the 60's, to highlight his adversarial nature. Make the bum do something stupid, like trying to quell free speech, and watch him implode.
Chilling.Spending taxpayer $$ to hire slick Spin Doctors. The arrogance is shameful. "them against us " attitude UofA board of visitors is the real problem. Would they have to have authorized this PR firm hiring? Maybe the BOV needs to be examined more closely than Watts.

That's my understanding. The docs show that the Board is at the very least cooperating closely; the PR firm released the statements of the System Chancellor, Robert Witt and Board Pres. pro tem, Karen Brooks and the docs imply that the firm wrote them (the language is so highly similar to Watts's statements that they were probably written by the same person, but the docs don't quite state this outright).

Why isn't anyone in Alabama calling for heads to roll at the UofA BOT?

Many are, and not just supporters of UAB (I mean supporters more broadly than just sports fans). But the vast majority of this state's population is miserably educated and prefers to view everything through the lens of foooobaw. Check out the comments to the article in that first post; you can tell the plants from Direct Communications because they keep going on about how many football tickets were sold. Which has ZERO connection to the corruption and criminality with which the article is concerned, but in this state, they're betting it will get traction. And they're probably right.
Sinclair Lewis wrote, "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."
Fascism has come to Alabama, and it's cloaked in crimson and hollering "Roll Tide!" The Trustees have effectively linked themselves to Crimson Tide football and that is a mighty shield in these parts.

This is incredibly pathetic, they're sparing no expense to cover their sorry a##es, but pull out the (bleeping) "fiscal responsibility card" on us all these years when it comes to needed resources for our athletic programs, particularly football. I am so sick of these with that "know your place" mentality, they should check their (bleeping) , this is not 1963!
