They're not going to be under .500. They're not playing a VCU caliber opponent, every single game. They might not do so great in conference play, but you have a ton of new parts to fit together. Patience will be key. I know your inaugural season in this league probably didn't go how you wanted, but it's silly to lose all hope because of this one game. Even if you think Pastner is underachieving, he's not going to fall off the face of the earth. It all depends on what your expectations are. Some people are expecting him to make runs in march, I don't know that he's good enough to do that; but he pulls in highly touted recruiting classes and gets you into the tourney.

After CBU, Pastner said team played too slow. After this (Wichita) one, he said he may have to slow them down. So he's got it cornered.

Not saying it's going to happen, because this is the most difficult Tiger team to get a handle on in 10 years at least, but after losing to CBU, and the way they played against Wichita State, I don't think that we know that. I think that a losing season is a very real possibility, even if it's not the most likely outcome.

We just played what was probably the best team we'll face all year. Our conference should not be as tough as it was last year - Louisville is gone, UConn lost Daniels & Napier, Cincinnati lost Sean Kilpatrick & Justin Jackson. SMU will be better, not sure who else is on the rise in the AAC.
We should win 20 games this year, and will finish in the top half of our conference.

Parrish said on his show yesterday that Pastner wouldn't get fired but it would be awful for Pastner (and anyone else) to have to live through all the vitriol that he would get.
maybe that will be the way he leaves then.
Maybe but Josh Pastner may be a lot of things but he's not a quitter. Going to be hard on his family as well if the season continues in a downward spiral. Just need to let the season play out a little more. Coaching has to be the worst job in the world to have nowadays but the pay is good.
I realize I've never been in a position like Pastner, with so much attention on it. However, I don't get what people mean when they say it's going to be so hard on him. What is hard? The things people say on sports radio shows, message boards, and a few articles in the paper? He can ignore that. Sure, he'll know that people are unhappy, but he doesn't have to listen to anyone outside the program.
It's not like people are going to set booby traps for him and his family on their way to work or school. No one is going to boo his wife at the grocery store (if they do, that's sad).
So what's the big deal? He's already made millions. He'll get another job, even if just as an assistant, making hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Why is it "so hard" for him? You want to know who has it rough? Drive to South Memphis and look around. That's hard.

I assure you coaching is NOT NEARLY the worst job in the world, and further, like any other job, if you are good at what you do, the rest of the stuff takes care of itself.
You are right about the pay, although I would say outrageous instead of good.

What pay in sports is the most outrageous?
Athletes with the big contract that don't produce (Big Country Reeves)
Coaches with the big contract that don't produce ( )?
Either way the fan pays. So if you are paying and don't like the results shouldn't you have the right to disagree?

Realist. Overreaction is preferred in this forum. Get with the program.

Well our next game will probably be the worst team we play all year. Kudos to Josh for the variety
