Snyder was a joke by student news. Bayno was proposed by the same guy who said White was it two days ago. I saw tweets about The UMass head coach. Menzies from NMSt is still in (bleh) and the stephen f austin guy. Also, possibly (longshot) tubby smith... or some other mystery candidate.

Marvin Menzies would be a REALLY solid hire...Pitino coaching tree, four NCAAs the last five years, five 20+ win seasons at NM State.

I know... it's just ... it's 5 NCAA's in one of the worst conferences in basketball... He's a very good recruiter for the situation he's in.

I'm just worried that he hasn't won the conference regular season outright in his entire time there. On paper, his teams shouldn't lose games in that conference strictly because of their stupidly tall front court.

Anyways... it's a gut feeling that it might not be the best higher we could have made... but I've already seen a tweet tonight that he was offered the job. It's from a source I consider probably 70-80% reliable.

Sounds like he took his lemons and made lemonade in the WAC...I'd say he's at least as good as Hoffman, and I think he's got more potential, as well.

I'm still holding a sliver of hope for Mike White HAHAHAHA I'd almost like to see what Sean Sutton at ORU can do when he doesn't have to contend with wack-job Christian fanatics' policies that deter recruits.

How much is Tulsa paying?
That's a team full of Sophomores that made the NCAA tourney. Looks perfect for someone looking for a good vault. Paying enough or are they going on the cheap?

this would be a huge get for Tulsa. Good coach, and luring him from a basketball school is a feather in your hat. The Wac wasn't really all that bad of a conference until this year.

WAC or AAC?
Las Cruces NM or Tulsa OK?
NMSU $$ or TU $$?

A no-brainer decision if ever there was.

Menzies would be great hire (more proven than your old coach and white)

this would be a home run hire for them if they get him

i hear the reason tulsa is missing out on every hire is they are trying to be cheap, tulsa will keep losing coaches if they can't open the bank

I would go after Ben Howland if were Tulsa. I think they could hold on to him until he retires. Any young coach will just use Tulsa as a stepping stone.

Menzies is a better hire than White, Tyndall and Snyder. Hell I would even say that he is a better coach than Manning. I saw Menzies' team lose in overtime in the tournament to San Diego State. His guys are athletic and they played hard.

Of the guys rumored to be possible for the job Menzies and Snyder seem to be the most intriguing to me.

I don't think either would be bad. I like them better than what USF has done.

USF has taken a big swing. Their hire is either going to be boom or bust. I don't see USF being mediocre in 3 years they are going to explode either for the good or the bad. I loved their first choice and think he would have been a home run for them, but we all know the way that turned out. The direction they went took some big stones. The AD is either going to look like a genius or a fool and I bet we'll know pretty quickly which it's going to be.
