To be honest, I've never fired a handgun. I have fun with my shotgun shooting clay, I especially enjoy "sporting clays" as opposed to just lining up with the thrower. In addition to the shotgun, I've fired a few different rifles, nothing too exciting, but the most fun I've probably ever had with a gun when I was like 12, my father let me shoot his civil war era muzzle loader. I think we were making a fire bucket or something and it needed some ventilation holes in the sides, which I was more than happy to help with that muzzle loader. I remember it kicking like crazy, but I was just 12 at the time. I'd like to shoot it again, I'm sure he still has it.

And you sound like a mix of T.I., Michael Vick, and Roy Jones Jr.!
I just threw that RJJ in there because I liked him as a fighter, but he was no heavyweight fighter...

I hunt with a .270 Remington model 700....nothing fancy at all....but it's a tack driver.
The most 'unique' rifle I have is my lever action Winchester 7-30 Waters.

I have inherited my dads .30 carbine from the Korean War/Conflict. Made by Winchester. Will get a pick one day. Also his Remington 16 full choke auto shotgun. I added these to my aresnal way too soon.

M-16 or AK-47?
why?
depends on what you are looking for in a gun. if you want durability and a big impact but less accuracy i'd go ak-47. if you are within about 150-200 meters you should be fairly accurate with it trying to shoot at a specific point target. any further than that your just better off trying to hit a general area. M16 jams considerably more ( although i've been shooting them for 3 years and i've only had 3 rounds jam) and requires more maintenance. The round is smaller and doesn't quite pack the punch of the 7.62 but the M16 has a much greater effective range of a point target at 550 meters and effective range on an area target at 800 meters. really it just comes down to preference. I personally would choose the M16

The 47 sure wouldn't win a beauty contest, but it is like old Timex watch ads........it will take a lickin' but keep on tickin'. Hands down a better and more reliable weapon than the M16 in a hostile enviroment (rain, mud, humidity, etc).:odie:

completely agree with the reliability of the AK-47... i still like the M16 purely because you effectively neutralize an enemy further away than with an AK

If your enviroment is heavy bushes, trees, foliage, etc........further away is neutralized as an advantage.:odie:

RE: OT: Favorite Firearm
The AK bounced arround a lot for me, but I'm messy. I do think that stating it is limited to 200 meters is wrong. The maximum effective range to a point target for the 47 is listed at 400 meters. I don't think I would have a problem consistently hitting targets at 300 meters with it. Having said that, I have hit 500 meter targets with the M16. I just like the AK better because I just can't seem to keep the M16 clean enough, at least in the desert.
