The number would obviously be much lower if they hadn't used his name.
Clearly CNN is now a tool of the right wing.
Nah. CNN isn't a tool of the right wing but you are a right wing tool. Sorry. It was just to easy. :)

I don't think so, but I do think that those who oppose Obama because of their racist tendencies will try to hide behind polls like this one. Few political blocks are homogeneous. Some people do oppose Obama simply because he is black (or part black if you prefer) and they are aware of that fact. Others aren't as aware of it because they don't want to admit to themselves and others that they have strong racist tendencies, so they attack every move he makes and claim their opposition is rooted in policy differences. Those people are self-deluded. Others have genuine policy differences with Obama, but policy differences, at lease non-social policy differences, rarely flare into the sort of virulent hatred that is on display from so many on the right these days. Clinton's and Obama's presidencies have been remarkably similar to this point. While Clinton was the target of heavy GOP attacks, those attacks still didn't take on the nature of what Obama has faced. Racism is one potential factor. I think it is naive to disregard that reality. The problem is that it is very difficult to tell who is motivated by racism, who is motivated by partisan hackery, and who is motivated by genuine policy differences. So the racists will hide among the others and disavow their racist tendencies. That's why it is important for Republicans like me to ferret out and cast out those who appear to be motivated by racism. The problem for my brand of Republicanism these days is that those motivated by racism and ultra-partisan hackery seem to outnumber those of us who have policy differences but are willing to work with the other side of the aisle for the good of our country.

Yeah, conservatives would be all in support of Hillary had she been elected and instituted the same policies.
If there are any people that oppose Obama because he's black, I assure you, they're Democrats. Conservatives don't support him period because he's not a conservative.
It's not rocket science. Really. It's not.

Or not. Charges of racism make for good yellow journalism, and keep Minority Studies professors employed, but they aren't rooted in reality.
Closer to the truth is that wasting resources on this nonsense, as opposed to doing something productive, does have an impact on the economy.

That is the most irrelevant, inconsequential diatribe that I have read from anyone in a hell of a long time. Not a single shred of fact and complete speculation. You think yourself a mindreader of the masses. I have to call BULLSH!T on this one.

Why did all these racists vote him into office in the first place? And were Bush's poor poll numbers also the result of racism? We have a black man in the Oval Office which I think shows that racism has diminished tremendously in this country.,

Would conservatives support the most liberal Senator in history for President had he been white? Yes or no?
Thanks for playing. The race issue only applies to Democrats who vote Democrat anyway.

I agree that racism has diminished over time, but it still exists. Racism's political home used to be in the southern-wing of the Democratic party. Sadly it is in the GOP today, and it doesn't seem to have the same geographic confines that it used to have. I take some comfort in the reality that racism is slowly withering away, but it remains a slow process.
GOP supporters didn't vote Obama into office, so Obama's election has no bearing on discussions about racism in the GOP or on the right side of the political spectrum. It does have bearing on the overall attitude of Americans towards race and on the Democrat's attitude toward race.

I think it exists on the left, in those libs who live in almost all-white areas and think that minorities need special privileges to compete with whites in the workforce and in school, and need free handouts because they aren't able to take care of themselves.

95% of black voters voted for a black candidate - is that racism? Are we to think that 95% of any particular group all have the same political views? And when I see the Black Panthers become Boy Scouts that's when I'll say that the perceived victims of racism have finally acknowledged their own racist tendencies.
