Almost 40 years ago to the day, we played UAB for the first time. Feb 4th to be exact.

Gene Bartow was their coach. We were both ranked in the top 20.

Ponder this for a moment. 9 out of the 10 starters on the court that day were from Memphis or nearby (Keith Lee and Bobby Parks).

We won in overtime 53-51. The glory days of Memphis High School basketball.

I think so too, but mainly to get this team’s confidence back. Rice, Wichita, @ Temple and Tulane coming up. Chance to get on a nice run again before the crucial 4 game stretch with 2 in Dallas, Charlotte and FAU at home.

Let's just hope Penny and the guys are ready for a lot of zone today. We have to figure out how to move the ball and score against the zone. Everyone knows how much we've struggled especially when 3s aren't falling.

Need better game from Quinerly. He had 6 turnovers vs Tulane.
Need to keep UAB under 30% from 3 point line.
Need less than 5 minutes each from Jaden and Ashton unless someone gets injured or in foul trouble. Will given Jaden minutes at end of game if UAB fouling cause he’s good FT shooter.
Need to play good defense without fouling cause UAB good from foul line.
Anything I’m missing other than usual limit turnovers and rebound well.
