For real? There were people wanting to argue he hadn’t pled guilty to a felony.

Many were willing to let it play out legally ( innocent till proven otherwise) and we were ok letting Penny Decide. But I don’t know anyone who was ‘wanting’ him.
JJ was also someone we were watching to get an idea of Mikey. Birds of a feather ya know

The strength and conditioning coach gave a quick evaluation of everyone// JJ wasn’t buying in strongly

I couldn’t imagine the toxic divide between Penny’s veterans who have developed a work ethic & chemistry combined with entitled incoming freshmen like Mikey & JJ who believe they’re one year away from the NBA.

I'm sure the stigma of being officially denied at a place like Memphis would have drastically hurt his chances with other schools. He is right, he had no choice but to make this move before it potentially really got ugly for him.

I don't think that had anything to do with it. It was the timing they were concerned about, being afraid the decision would be made too late for them to transfer elsewhere.

You know, like the NCAA always does to us on waiver requests.

I seriously doubt we would have turned him down after the felony becomes a misdemeanor, so I think this was mainly an excuse to reset and see what other choices were out there.

Nah. There is nothing in Tomlin's game that strikes me as him making absurd demands. That appears to be more of a gelling issue.

And remember that the oncoming of Tomlin more or less coincides with losing Mills, our best perimeter defender. This is just the team having to learn to play without Mills and with Tomlin.

Maybe Penny will have them practice more during the week to help Tomlin learn the sets and for the team to gel.

During the last game, Tomlin made a terrible pass that went out of bounds. The camera went to him, and he had a look of disgust on his face. At first I thought he was mad about the other guy not catching the ball, but then he motioned to his chest that it was his fault. I was glad to see that.

Just seems like a kid that makes a lot of bad decisions. If one of those bullets he shot had killed someone....he would be in the pen. Penny stuck with him when most coaches would have cut ties with him immediately when he was arrested. The kid has no sense of loyalty. I am glad he is gone. He looks like nothing but trouble to me.

Let Dawkins deal with Mikey "bullets" Williams at UCF lol

If he ended up in Orlando he clearly wasn't a priority of other top programs either

I guess they like UCF playing now in the Big 12 and beating Kansas.. You can tell even teams like UCF are playing in another level in a more competitive conference.
