Every win by Georgia Southern hurts the conference a little more. Literally one of the worst teams in basketball this year with a perfectly awful 0-12 OOC record… well they just spanked Southern Miss.

Getting a top 4 seed and the double bye should be on every team’s goal list and there probably aren’t 4 good teams that can separate so even the crap teams could get into the top 4.
Not much to get excited about until Pensacola.

Won't be the last time that happens. GS has won 8 of the last 10 conference home games including wins over Marshall and JMU.

Happened last year too. Some really bad teams with bad out of conference records do well in conference. Georgia Southern at least has the excuse of a new coach so the team and coach is melding better over time maybe? Maybe some of their fans can say, but I just don't see them losing much if they play that way against everyone. Yes our D isn't good and our team is not great right now. Lots of mistakes in many areas. At the same time Georgia Southern did not look like a 0-12 team at all. I would have been shocked if someone had told me they even had a losing record.

Losing every single OOC game, then somehow pulling out your first win vs a conference foe might be the biggest unintentional troll move tbh lol..

To be fair, I have not watched Southern Miss yet. I have no idea if they're any good either.

Our offense is disjointed, our defense is porous, and we’re 262nd nationally in making free throws, but other than that, we’re not too bad.

Alvarez being out hurts, but doesn’t explain this big a nosedive. We apparently caught lightning in a bottle last year with a group of guys who just really clicked with each other.

I stopped watching after halftime, when it came across my iPad that we had won, I was shocked. Happily shocked, but shocked non the less.

I didn't catch the game, but great come back. I'd be surprised if Jones is back for another month or so. And even so we're a terrible team right now. Sorry, SBC, but we won't be pumping up bball any time soon.

Wouldn't have anything to do with all 7 games were played at East courts would it?

Basketball does seem to have an even higher home-team advantage than football, at least in this league. Baseball in the Sun Belt doesn't seem to have high HFA at all.

Wouldn't have anything to do with all 7 games were played at East courts would it?

The women weren't all playing in the East, yet only CCU lost their women's conference opener.

It wasn’t pretty, but we did enough to get the W.

Gotta just hope that JMU keeps winning. Other than when they play my team of course. It would be great to watch the Sun Belt get a few wins in the tourney.
