What was even more impressive than their height, was their ability to move so well. So much fun to watch.

In the regional finals Texas played Stanford. There was a relatively shorter Stanford girl (relatively-who knows-she might have been 5’10”) but her leaping ability to spike was really impressive. She really got high.

RE: NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship - 2023
A theme emerging in this thread is that these ladies are extremely athletic. To see so many young women 6-0 and taller and, on average, 20 years old move, twist, leap, spike the ball with power, etc. in such a manner would have been unthinkable 41 years ago when I was 20. The tallest girl at the high school I attended was about 5-11 (she was gorgeous). Now, these college ladies who play basketball and volleyball ... many are 6-0, 6-2 ... even 6-4 and taller. And they are athletic.

Can we remotely fathom 50 years from now in the U.S. when the average NBA player will be 6-10 and many women (athletes or not) will be 6-2 and taller?

Unforced errors by Nebraska is killing them.

How did this team lose 4 games all year?

well they lost 2 of the first 4 and 3 of the first 8-To Long Beach St. who just missed the tourney, to #2 ranked Stanford and Washington St. who was ranked #10. They also lost a conference match to Kansas St. who just missed the tourney. 10 of the 12 sets they lost in those 4 were 25-20 or closer.

Texas had a great final 3 games of the season, peaking at the right time. But the story here really has to be Nebraska's total collapse. They just didn't show up.

After Elliott received the Red Card, Texas turned on the switch and dominated. Nebraska had no answers and the predominantly Nebraska crowd was silent after the first set.

A strong (bordering on dominant) performance by Texas. Congrats to the Longhorns, a fantastic team.

Congrats to Nebraska for making it to the finals.

I was hoping for five close, competitive sets with Set 5 to go into the 30s for maximum excitement. But after Texas won Set 2, ... it was over, with the third set a mere formality (as Nebraska looked demoralized).

I'm already looking forward to next season.

I highly doubt it. People aren't getting taller. On average due to immigration, the US population is actually getting shorter.

Maybe with the WNBA and increased popularity of college women's basketball and volleyball, more tall women are finding men's basketball players!04-cheers

I won't care how tall they are if they can read, speak properly, think, and make change I'll be happy! Sports are nice, athletes can be impressive, but we just need all of our people to be capable.

I could easily be proved wrong, as a recent study supports your point.
