Wow, you guys might as well hire Uteps ex-coach. It seems that they have the same losing record. Don't make that mistake, get one that's used to winning. We had to have a loser for SIX WHOLE MISERABLE YEARS and he still didn't want to leave. Would you want to leave with what he was getting for a Schiffy product, of course not, but at least now HE'S GONE!...AND GOOD RIDDANCE.

There is a conspiracy theory out there that our Prez is being directed by THEC (TN Higher Education Commission = UT) to bring MT down. Well, he has succeeded. He has failed at everything for the past 22+ years and retains his job.

He is a cancer to our university and city, the most growing city in the nation.

His name has been in the mix for a little bit now, but it seems like Mason is a done deal. There will be a press conference at 9am today to announce.

The only thing that could possibly make this worse for MTSU fans is if Mason hired Mike Sanford Jr. (former WKU coach) as his Offensive Coordinator. Then you'd have to believe the conspiracy theory about trying to keep the Raiders unsuccessful!

Despite our rivalry I really don't want MTSU to fail. It's better for the conference to have as many strong teams as possible, but this hire is sure a head scratcher.

It's not that bad. Everybody wants to pass the ball every down and win 9 games. He will recruit pretty well. That is what the hire is about.

He's not going to do better than Stockstill because he did a great job.

Any coach is going to need some luck. If Mason has a little luck, he will win 9 games and then someone will hire him and you can get a guy that will pass and win less.

Well. At least MASON won the Press Conference announcing that he was hired. Said all the right things. And he met with the team last night in an effort to hold on to the 10+ players that have already entered the Transfer portal as well as the other 50+ who haven't.

He killed it in the presser so I’m feeling a lot better about him. Let’s go Blue!

The most fun part about being a fan of a team is complaining about the coach. If you can't do that, it is really not a good time. This is the best case scenario for MTSU fans. They can blame it not just on Stockstill but also on Mason and the president and AD for the four years at least.

President is a PV A&M guy. Sounds about right.

Regardless, change was good and necessary here and Mason will bring some much-needed excitement to the 'Boro.

Not sure. I watched ULM's presser and, while presumably present, the president did not speak; only the AD and new coach.

WKU's president is involved in the announcement of our coaches (at least football, MBB and WBB.)

Usually the AD. Obviously when a black president hires a black coach, he is going to be pretty excited and make the introduction.
