After 20 minutes of Rocky Boiman talking about chili to eat up dead air time in another blowout loss I bet Skyline upped Corleone's NIL deal to 3rd round $$..

That is shocking, I figured he would be a top 100 draft pick this year.

Honestly, he almost certainly was...but family is more important to Don Corleone.

Are you saying that they made him an offer he couldn't refuse?

Didn't know if you seen this in the article:

Quote:Corleone said his NFL draft prospects were anywhere from the second or third round to a late-round pick. He hopes to solidify them with a strong season.

Three scouts contacted by ESPN had varied projections and considered his choice wise, as they had Corleone everywhere from the back end of the top 100 to the fifth round.

Quote:Corleone said that NIL factored into his decision to stay, as it has helped him support his mother, Resheda Myles, and family that live in Colerain.

I thought he wasn't allowed to enter NFL because he was Sophomore. Red shirt sophomores are allowed to enter NFL I guess?

The Iowa model

03-lmfao Hope he gets back to form. He didn't look like the same guy most of this season.

He alluded to getting healthy in the off-season, so part of me wonders if he was playing through something at some point. He was definitely not his usual self, although part of that is the change in punt team and protection IMO. He got his kicks out a lot earlier this year, that may have affected his ability to really lay into them.

I genuinely wonder what, if anything, should be read into this.

Entire starting offensive line is coming back (all 6, including Buford/Tinsley...who both started at tackle along with John Williams). 1000 yard rusher back. Best WR back. Two tight ends back. Offense should take a huge leap next year. Hopefully, a transfer portal QB will see the pieces in place that weren't here last year and come to have a huge year.

Joey Beljan commented “Can’t wait” on Twitter to Mason Fletcher saying he was returning. Beljan could be a big weapon if he can play next year. Singletary dropped some passes early but his play greatly improved over the season. We also have a high rated 3 star tight end Gavin Grover coming in. Hopefully tight end position returns to be a Bearcat strength next season.
Guard/center Zeke Cornell from Anderson HS is leaving Notre Dame. Think he has one year of eligibility remaining.

I watched the press conference. It was good stuff from everyone involved. Satterfield, The Godfather and Fletcher. Corleone is such an impressive young man.

I haven’t mentioned previously, but I saw multiple comments in other online UC groups stating that a certain high profile defensive player, who is now in the portal, sucker punched Emory Jones in the face earlier in the season.

I am not saying it is true. I have no inside information. But I have seen that rumor stated several times since the end of the season.
It would certainly explain why a starter was told that they were not wanted back next season and needed to enter the portal.

Might explain his one game suspension

Based on the comments above about players not wanting to be coached, locker room issues, etc. there's a pretty solid chance the staff is chalking up a lot of the issues the fans saw as poor coaching to player attitudes and abilities. If coaching changes were going to be made I think we'd have seen something already.

I gotta say, I'm pretty pleased that Satt and the players went through the effort of speaking to the media like that. I'm not sure if that presser had been on the schedule for months but the structure of the head coach and several players speaking together seems both unusual and necessary given what we saw this past season.

At the very least, I get the sense that both the coaches and players hold the program in high regard and are committed to a coordinated effort to right the ship (hell, the coaches are having players interview prospective portal prospects). That's all that I can ask of them at this point in time, hopefully they can get this program back to where we all want it to be.
