I am sorry, Bovine. Frustrating game to visit for. Hopefully doesn’t spoil your whole trip.
Thanks Ramy! I’m an old Eagle from the 90s. Losing doesn’t faze me.
It’s always a good time in Washtenaw County. : )

Which is the first-year coach/staff? I can’t tell.

That first half was painful. We got flat out embarrassed at home. Not sure why Smith wasn’t out there until our most recent drive.
We’re still in it to an extent, but we need a lot of help. Defense needs to produce some turnovers or big stops, and something has to jolt our offense awake. All in all, this definitely is not where I thought we’d be going into the season. Disappointing for sure

EMU is playing good ball. The ESPN+ crew are struggling.
They were wrong on the call where WMU thought that had an INT at the pylon.
Then they missed the play where EMU easily crossed the WMU 15. The official got of position and they missed the positioning of the ball by 1.5 yards.
C.C., NOT Lance Taylor called the TO to challenge.

Credit our guys for playing their hearts out to come back, but it feels like we take one step forward and two back. Great plays are immediately followed up by gut punches

Pathetic play calling this quarter. Going for two after the touch down then a great goal line stand! smith getting caught for 2 touch backs! A great goal line stand one of the greatest I've seen here at EMU wasted on touchback!

Game Day WMU at EMU October 28 2023
Every position on the team and on the coaching staff needs to be reevaluated. Can't lose to a lowly program like WMU and stay the course.

I'm so disappointed the level of play and coaching thus year. With what I think is a good defense, Jaylon, Evans, Knue, JB.....we haven't looked good for a SINGLE half of football in 9 games.
I'm starting to question some things.....
Congrats to 1st year head coach Lance Taylor who looks like has WMU on the right track.

Lowly program??
How many MAC championship games and NY6 bowl games have you been to in the last 10 years?
Until EMU wins a MAC championship, you can’t call us “lowly”

Maybe CC is burned out. Coach Harkema burned out too after several seasons.

I agree with your sentiment. This was a really bad loss. I know posters on here pointed out WMU is better than their 2-6 record, but they are still 2-6- a “lowly team” as you say. To be dominated by such a team shows something is wrong.

We play like the quarterbacks play. When Smith plays well, we're fine.
When we see the quarterbacking like in the first quarter, we're toast.

Austin Smith is clearly the better QB, but was it wise to play him nursing an injury especially when it was clear you likely were not coming back…
…unless the partial injury was just a story to try a different QB. And became clear Austin Smith is our best option at the position.

Bulletin board material for our boys next year. WMU planted their flag midfield and caused another scuffle after the game

I’m not trying to sugarcoat our record but we are the only MAC team that played 3 P5s this year and then drew Miami and Ohio from the East.

I said what I said. LOWLY! Artificial arrogance gets you nowhere. WMU prete ds to be elite but in reality is hung up on their one good year.

Ramy, bring on basketball! This football season has been really embarrassing! Getting blown out by 24 points against a 2-6 team! CC has been here a decade now...

It is a real possibility. That kind of thing happens in life. EMU football has got to be one of the toughest positions to take on. He has done an amazing job bringing the program up to consistent competitiveness. But it will take its toll on you… and not quite clearing the top after 10 long years probably will suck the motivation out of you too.
In any case, something seems wrong this year.
