Honestly. You all griped that Dilfer was hired over the two main candidates. I was completely fine with interviewing Tyson Helton. That was the best candidate of the 4.

I’m not going to pretend that I’m ok with how we look or that damn near every position was filled with a quality control assistant.

For the past decade I’ve been on & off this board. Y’all have used the “if you can coach better, then do it” every time the slightest criticism is given. Screams mediocrity.

The AD needs to know that what the majority of our sports look like right now is unacceptable.

we completely change the offense and the defense ,,,,we have one of the best recruiting class in uab history but they are freshman ,,coach will learn that UAB need juco ,present look terrible ,,,we got potential for the FUTURE

Calling it the Best recruiting class in UAB history is subjective. Probably the best Dline class we’ve signed. Yes, future is bright in those youngsters. Nowhere close in regards to what we did at OLine. Half of the class signed at Oline were not takes even if they were willing to walkon.

You criticize every coach in every sport constantly. If you can do the job better I truly want you to be a part of it.

RE: ***Game Thread*** Georgia
I know this is a message board, and there's always going to be plenty of negativity with no accountability---but I am amazed at how much some people would rather be right than have UAB succeed. I also wonder what the motivation is to come here and just rail on our team--three games into a new staff, and what we knew was going to be a challenging season.

Do you think you are giving us insight that we can't see ourselves? That our defense is struggling. That we are getting beat at the line on both sides of the ball. That we are obviously short-handed at several positions that have been strengths in past years. That overall, we are pretty bad right now (especially on the heels of last Saturday's game). It's so easy to pile on at a time like this, but what good does that do?

No one is asking for sunshine-pumping, but maybe you can be a fan of your team and actually pull for them, instead of just trying to prove that you are the smartest guy in the room because you knew Dilfer was a bad hire, or his assistants were bad hires, or whatever expertise you are sharing. By the way, the jury is still out on all of that, but we will all be here when the time comes to find out if you were right after all.

By the way, if you want to compare to our most recent staffs, almost all of Clark's assistants were just guys he coached with in high school, or who played for him at Prattville. Very few had much in the way of Division I qualifications, and that's why a good number of them are back coaching high school now. They didn't have college jobs waiting on them. But those coaches won for us anyway.

Go Blazers! Beat Georgia!

Quincy McGee is playing as well. Funny seeing both former Blazers. Only part of that game worth watching.

Naw if the DB turns his head, Georgia comes out with 3 points instead of 7.

Our OL can’t protect Zeno. Our DL can’t get to their QB.

"We should be thankful for what we have, stop complaining" is the motto of this place and it's disgusting. It's why UAB is stuck as a peer to Memphis, Tulsa, UTSA, and FAU instead of Cincinnati, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Stanford. If we had an ounce of ambition and pride in the university it'd be a member of the AAU and wouldn't have tagged along with a bunch of Conference USA refugees and would have its own stadium on campus where water didn't cost more than it does at Disney World.

Instead, it's "Alabama-Birmingham at Georgia" on ESPN2 to fill a Finis St John aviation budget-sized hole in the athletics department financial statement, and no one ever talks about ambitious goals and barely keeping up with both real inflation and the inflation of the overall academic and research industry in terms of quality
