God i can only imagine how pathetic our crowd will be for a no name opponent in the rain (both students and regular fans). If this is a close game, we are in trouble. After last Saturdays debacle, this team better be ready to beat the hell out of someone and show they have killer instinct. I want the score to be lopsided. And if its not, ODU is in big trouble.

Hope we are practicing all week holding on to wet footballs. Last thing we need in a game like this is the ball rolling all over the field.

To continue our opponent Q&As on the website, we called on a member of this board to help us out. Joe Love aka ODU Aggie, who is likely to be the only fan in attendance with a connection to both programs, was kind enough to educate us a bit on Texas A&M-Commerce and his path to becoming an ODU fan. Enjoy!

It’s Homecoming, so that may help.

Im still not holding my breath. Ive lost faith in our fanbase to show loyalty as a whole at this point. Ive also lost faith in the school admin to try and bring fans back in.

I was the only one of my family to sit through the entire game. Fortunately, we were staying at Springhill.
However, the next morning the flooding was so bad that getting out of the area was quite difficult, even in an SUV.

I am not surprised that many don't want to deal with that.

I was a cheerleader during that game and I was SO happy that the weather was as crappy as it was because I went a little too hard the night before lol and we didn't have to do any stunts

However, if anyone remembers... That's the game we accidentally ran the O-D-U flags in the end zone after a TD as D-O-U

Ditto. Non-alumni fans on this board are some of the best because they are as much a fan of the sport as they are of the school.

Yes indeed, and we chanted that! It was funny

The story is, we left the flags on the side of the field we would be scoring on but our group was on the opposite corner. So when they scored we had to sprint over and while I had said we should check the flags one of the other cheerleaders said we didnt have any time, so we grabbed them in the order they were laid on the ground. It wasn't until we heard loud booing about 3/4 of the way back that i looked up and realized we grabbed the wrong flags... Oops lol

Some of my buddies in the student section started DOU chants so that I wasn't completely embarassed which I appreciated haha

Any possibility or discussion by the university of the game being moved to Sunday?

I've never seen a Sunday game once the NFL regular season has begun. And I think it has to be hurricane-level weather before they consider moving the game before game day. But if it is really bad as kickoff approaches, the officials can postpone it.

If we get the amount of rain some are forecasting, you might get to the stadium but you won’t get out of Norfolk without a boat. Unfortunately this isn’t a game worth sitting in the rain for.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we got a later start. Should know soon.

So many bad weather memories over the years. The blistering sun of the UNH game and Taylor's record setting day. I came back to the stadium after a long lightning break with maybe 300 others to watch us blow a lead to FIU. I sat through the coldest ODU game I can remember with maybe another 2k fans but was rewarded with the UNT comeback win. Bobby brought the team into the beer garden to celebrate with the 10 people in there. It was great. The cold rainy JMU game and win. The Noreaster delayed game against Hampton. And now, the Louisiana game has joined that group of notable weather related games.
