Southern Miss and Arkansas State have had similar seasons thus far. Both teams have beaten an FCS opponent, been mauled on the road by a national power, and lost handily to a good AAC opponent. However, one of these two teams will start their Sun Belt slate 1-0, and that would be the elixer that both of these teams could use to help right their ships this season.

Unless we find some way to be effective on offense, it's likely to be a low scoring game that may be won by field goals. I expected to be handled by FSU, but our biggest issue in the Tulane game was ourselves. Defense kept the game from being a complete blow out. If the offense wakes up, things may be different, but it's hard to have confidence going forward at this point.

We are trying to find our way back. USM would be a nice step. We will see.

We owe Southern Miss….but I’m not sure we are skilled enough to take advantage of their down time.
I’m looking forward to the game regardless of the outcome.

If its won on Field Goals, we have a chance.

True story, both teams have similar issues.

Offenses struggle to put points on the board largely due to inconsistent QB Play and an inability to throw the ball. Neither team appears to have settled on who will start at QB

Defense tries valiantly, but hard to win games when your offense can't score a TD.

Our defense struggles with the passing game and doesn't force turnovers, which probably gives you guys the edge in this pillow fight of the century.

On the bright side, we're forcing the USM defense to prepare for 3 different QB's.

Of course, it might take about 15 minutes to prepare for 1 of them.

If Shrout is in the game just rush 5-7 every down and tell the D backs to play one step behind the receivers to make the easy pick.

If Butch is smart, he’ll send 5+ every play and press the corners. Our OLine can’t handle the blitz and our QB isn’t accurate past 10 yards.

It’s going to be a pillow fight of a game.

USM looking forward to it. We will see who is the least.
