lulz

yea, thats it. It was spillover recruits from their national championship. But then they didnt get spillover recruits for their next national championship.

You guys are flailing badly.

Well, not to the same effect. They were no longer playing in a power conference for basketball, so they're not getting the same spillover as prior national championships in the Big East. If Oregon State won the national championship, the recruiting effect wouldn't be the same entering the Mountain West as it would be if the Pac-12 stayed in tact.

2011 - #1 RPI + regional/historical rivals + MSG Tournament
2012 - #2 RPI + regional/historical rivals + MSG Tournament
2013 - #2 RPI + regional/historical rivals + MSG Tournament
2014 - #8 RPI
2015 - #8 RPI
2016 - #8 RPI
2017 - #7 RPI
2018 - #7 RPI
2019 - #6 RPI
2020 - #7 RPI

If you're a 5-star NYC recruit, the situation you're signing up for in the early 2010s is vastly different than the one you're signing up for in the mid-late 2010s.

That doesn't mean UConn isn't responsible for its program going in the tank those years. It's not one or the other. It's both. UConn's coaching wasn't up to par *and* UConn wasn't in the situation that best optimizes their advantages in basketball.
