No. Absolutely not. The band's location is one of the best things about the gameday atmosphere at Waldo.

I would worry about those issues when and IF there is not enough seating in the student section - i.e. the student section is full every game and more student seating is needed.

If they are moved, put them in the endzone on the bleachers. Dead center.

I agree. Often times the band are the only ones in the stands anyway. Let them have the good seats until a change is necessary.

Not only this, but the band being where they are gives the best sound experience for everybody else in the stadium.

I agree, but to be fair..I do have a lot of confidence in Dan.

What has Dan done to warrant this confidence? Lots of big plans, but so far, I wouldn't say he's actually delivered anything super impressive.

I think the New Hockey Rink is pretty impressive...

Just showing his face and speaking in public. And firing TL. Simple things that we haven’t had in awhile

I'd put that in the big plans category. Not trying to diss the guy or anything, just seems very early in his tenure to put total trust in him.

Elson Floyd had a lot of big plans and ideas too, and he moved on very quickly and left the university with the bills.

We are coming into his second football season and it's pretty much the worst schedule and least hyped season I can remember. Not sure how much of the scheduling we can put on him, but he is the AD and just like someone else mentioned in a now deleted post, the arena was in the works before him as well.

RE: Waldo Stadium
Haven't seen anything that makes me skeptical of him. It is early in his tenure so we will have to see what these plans are, with some specifics.

I don't think we can put much blame on Dan for the football schedule. His only involvement is likely firing TL, which I supported. We're pretty thin on talent with a new coach and a brutal schedule. We always (or at least usually) expect a rough transition with these kinds of changes. I think had TL still been at the helm, we'd still be picked to finish last. At least with a new coach on the job, there may be hope that we can escape mediocrity.

Didn't we see renderings of a bowled off Waldo about 10 years ago? Maybe Dan found them in his desk drawer.

Let's roll the brand back to pre-Proudfoot and then leave it the f*** alone.

04-rock I agree.

And it makes that side look "fuller" after the students decide to leave at halftime. I never had any issues with the band being at the 50.

attendance since the inception of maction has been pretty rough across the conference. If they do something, I would love to see something innovative and useful for both football and baseball games

You could reorient Hyames, have a combo grand-stand facing the diamond and a party deck facing the stadium. It's tight, but maybe they could even squeeze some extra parking in on the far side of the diamond. If they want to preserve the 30k capacity, fill in some more of the east corners.

Exactly. The band does NOT leave at halftime. At least half the students outside the band do leave.

Now he did not say what "soon" meant, and I didn't hear anyone ask. Maybe I should have.

Up date. Plans will be released to the public in "about" 6 months. The west endzone will be removed. New endzone will connect at west end of of student side, and not yet decided if it will continue all the way or stop short of the hillside. The new endzone will include some club seats similar to the other endzone. That's all I know for now.

I'll be very interested in seeing the plans for the southwest stands. It would be nice if they also created a pedestrian bridge to link east and west campus in this project. IMO, it is long overdue.

On a side note, placing a yellow halo around a poorly designed recreation of the bronco at the 50 yard line does nothing to enhance it. Also, it's infuriating to see t-shirts being produced with that same logo with a typeface similar to the old brand because it sells.

Scrap it. Start over with the brand everyone identifies with.

Hopefully won't have anything to do with attendance. The smart move would be getting rid of the bleachers and building a hospitality area. Thus reducing capacity.
