Pretty impressive all things considered. I've said it before but Baylor probably would have sold out in 2021 and UTSA and SMU in 2020 if not for covid. Oh well. We'll have two next year with UTSA and Arizona State

Spot on there . . …
That's funny because SMU can't sell out their own stadium. They could play Texas there and it still wouldn't sell out.

Crazy that Louisiana had higher attendance in the NOLA Bowl for a few years.
Since we are not limiting this to on campus games, USM has several games we hosted in Jackson with 65,000 there. So there’s that …..

I believe both Rice and SMU have more seats in their stadiums than living alumni.

What is App's official capacity? I've seen you've sold out Marshall and USM this upcoming season.
Actual "seating" is right at 24,000. Students jam onto their section filling up the isles and who knows how many cram on to the SEZ bank. Temp seats have been installed in the NEZ, not sure of the number.
Some very huge things affect CFB game attendance. First, no matter the opponent, a Family (Parent) Weekend game is always going to have a high turnout no matter the opponent. The same can be said about a Homecoming game. Last year we played Marshall on Homecoming weekend, we exceeded the capacity of the stadium, having a good team certainly helped, but had it been GA State, it would have only been about 1K fewer people since it was a Homecoming game.
Another game that usually has a good crowd no matter the opponent is the first home game. People are excited about football starting back up. Season ticket holders, especially, tend to use their tickets for the first game, but may stay home for the same opponent or even a better team in November.
The other factor is the weather, great weather fills the seats, rain, heat, or cold will have a lot fewer attending. These things must be looked at when factoring in attendance numbers.

Could you add the years of those games too?
Interesting too, for why those games were so big.
Marshall, App St, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas St, ULM, ODU - looks like it was from big name opponents (All Power-5 except Houston) that were in-state, or the adjoining state.
Louisiana's was an in-state FCS team that brought a big crowd.
Georgia St's was the first football game of their inaugural season. They were FCS and played an in-state DII team.
stAte, Georgia Southern, and Coastal were Sun Belt games. JMU's was their homecoming game of their first year in FBS/SunBelt. I don't know the situation of the other two, but stAte's game against MTSU was the last game of the season, and was the defacto Sun Belt Championship game, as we were the top two teams in the conference, and the winner would be crowned champion. It was 2012, Gus Malzahn was our head coach, and we won 45-0. One of the most flawless and impressive performances we've ever put on.
Regarding ULM's home game against Baylor: It was 2012 and the Warhawks had beaten #8 Arkansas and had taken Auburn to overtime in the two games before Baylor and were getting votes/points in the national rankings. The campus was going crazy at the time.
That was an awesome season. We should have beaten Auburn and Baylor but a fumbled handoff between Browning and Edwards sealed the game for Baylor. I truly feel that Baylor was not capable of stopping us.

Until Georgia Southern has a major "home side" renovation and expansion we can't crack 30K+ just don't have the room even if we are rolling. That ULM game was as packed as you can get I believe. Hopefully this hurricane does not kill our opening day attendance and moves out.

Technically yes, but MU unloaded some remaining unsold seats that are spread around the stadium to seatgeek. I would like to know the number of tickets they sold to seatgeek? Now you will have to pay the markup and pay the extra fees if you want a ticket. MU needs to remove some of the tarps and open up some seats or tickets for sale.
