A PAC with the following may be worth 10 to 12 Million for tier 1 & 2 rights. Tier 3 could be sold to a streaming service.

Pacific Division
Stanford - 2024
Cal - 2024
Oregon St - 2024
Washington St - 2024
Boise St - 2025
San Diego St - 2025

Mountain Division
UNLV - 2025
Utah St - 2025
Colorado St - 2025
Air Force - 2025
SMU - 2024
Tulane - 2024

At the very least this line up of schools gives them teams in multiple time zones that have divisions that somewhat geographically make sense. It also gives them the minimum of 6 schools needed to keep the conference alive in 2024 until the MWC schools can join in 2025.

New Orleans to Logan Ut is 1778 miles, about 20 miles less than from Statesboro, GA to Winnipeg, Manitoba. La Vegas to New Orleans is 1711 miles. Tulane playing that cross-division game against Washington State is only 2413 miles from the Big Easy.

Yes, sounds perfect! Tulane to Utah St is 3.5 hours by air. Arizona St to Washington St is 5.25 hours by air! Every single major college travels by air in that part of the country. It's nothing new.

I think we're reaching the bottom of the barrel in terms of rumors. With that said, the PAC brand can be very attractive for a set of G5 schools looking to form a "best of the rest" type of conference. To many cons for any of this to work however. TXST would be one of the few schools that could actively payoff its exit fee, although I must admit I don’t have a clue as far as the cost to leave the SBC. I'm assuming that it's quite a bit less than either the AAC or the MWC. As for the schools in the aforementioned conferences. 17 and 34 million dollar exit fees probably makes it highly unlikely that this plan ever makes it past the idea stage. If we could get the Texas trio of TXST. UTSA and UNT along with Boise State, Fresno State, UNLV plus maybe a few more schools. That would make for a pretty attractive conference for TXST IMO.
TXST joining the MWC after OSU and WSU joining is a more likely option, and that is still rather slim. Joining the AAC is another likelier option, which I also don't see happening. Not with OSU and WSU as higher priority targets. Most likely thing that happens is that you guys are stuck with us as we continue to build our brand within the Sunbelt.
On the plus side. Coach Kinne is recruiting his rear end off and securing commitments with offers from UTSA, UNT, Boise State and host of other SBC schools and even some P5 schools. We'll likely finish with one of the best, if not the top recruiting class in the Sunbelt. For whatever that's worth.

Not sure how fast Kinne can get all the pieces and system he wants in place, but he seems like a quality coach to me. Think you'll be in the SBC west title hunt within a few years, if not sooner. His background and performance at IW suggest it could be quick.

One favor to ask, beat the everlasting snot out of Sammy when you play them next year and leave no doubt. Would be great if you could take out UTSA this year too. 04-cheers

The college pecking order in New Orleans is LSU, Louisiana, USM, Alabama then Tulane. [And Alabama may be above Louisiana and USM].

Both Louisiana and USM have large alumni bases in metro New Orleans; something that Tulane no longer has.

Nobody cares they just want a trip to New Orleans.

Now a trip to Memphis is actually a big negative and why Memphis is still in the AAC.

This is probably true, BUT it seemed like we were there at one point way back, and then we realized west coast schools to the B1G was actually a possibility. So honestly, anything goes at this point...!
