Troy finally has something to be proud about football again and it wakes up the trolls.

I’m not sure how you arrive at the conclusion, unless the “in your face hype train” and air of “cockiness the program” carries along with him, creates a automatic assumption, as is prone with such guys. I get that to a degree.

I mean, he’s won everywhere he’s been. With less resources and past program success than the peers around him at those places. I don’t know that gimmicks get you that, not repeatedly.

Someone, and by someone I mean either they do it themselves, OR they are competent enough to hire the right people around them… but someone had to get:

McCall coached up… regardless of familiarity with similar tactics in HS, you don’t just become CPOY multiple times

Get the weapons around McCall. We’ve been three deep in quality RBs (barring literally everyone going down to injury last year), kept them happy sharing the load. Had solid possession receivers, to fit McCall’s bread and butter throws. Found incredible threat options… Likely, Brown, etc.

Keep a blockbuster O staff and recruiting staff happy, and together.

Sure, the D has issues. But there were always gonna be the lesser side. Not many coaches out there can be good at one side, let alone both.

Guess we will see how he does at LU, but he’s 3 for 3 so far. I’m not holding my breath for him to fail now.

Same thing gets said about McCall too, overrated… don’t get theater either. Runs well. Makes the right reads. More accurate than people realize. Great leader. His weakness is injury. Concussions early, body lately. Biggest influence on opinions about him this year will be if O line can keep him upright.

Not a soul should expect him to fail in CUSA. They will have significantly more resources than every school in their conference. I don't see much resistance outside of maybe 2-3 schools. The league isn't deep and he was fully aware when accepting the job. It's a steal.

Chadwell would've proved to everyone that he was the real deal by having success with a middling to low level P5. He had no desire to prove anything and chose the easy money, and you can't really blame him.

So… ANY coach, not our previous one in particular, that is actively throwing their hat in the ring for higher level P5 type jobs, isn’t trying to prove anything? After several years of proving otherwise? I’d beg to differ there…

In ANY case, if it didn’t work out yet at P5, and a combo of their current school not wanting to continually be on the coach replacement fence/fighting to keep them monetarily or otherwise, AND, Liberty being a viable step up in many regards, led to a move… seems pretty reasonable.

Let’s be honest. The issue at hand in that thinking isn’t Chadwell, it’s people having a problem with Liberty. I’m not here to debate the merits of what anyone thinks about the Flames. But LU, and where they’ve gotten to/where they’re going, is not a step down to Comfortville, it’s a better stepping stone.

You clearly have a different viewpoint on Liberty University and CUSA and that's okay. Not really important enough to get into that.

I wish him and his family the best in Lynchburg. Liberty seems like a better fit overall for him and his family with more money. Liberty fans say that he's been wanting to go there since 2016.
