Pac 12 members have agreed on terms in Grant of Rights
according to John Conzano:

"The remaining Pac-12 Conference members have finalized the terms of their Grant of Rights, sources tell me. That contract includes a variety of elements that all 10 schools needed to agree on — and it appears they have."

https://www.johncanzano.com/p/canzano-pa...ockey-down

Most of the rest of the article is behind a paywall which I do not have access to but I am 100% confident that whatever terms they agreed to in the GOR is contingent upon an acceptable television deal for all members. And unless the article has information on that front, it has been very quiet recently.

I'll wait till we see an unbiased source. Canzano has been wrong so many times, I've given up on him.

...interesting... The PAC really HAS to make this announcement at this point to 'move things along', but it doesn't change the current state of things as to the media deal, or lack thereof... This may just be a 'last ditch effort to save face' or whatever by the PAC...

BUT, if somehow they all hang together, that's cool - actually helps my Blazers, as the PAC at worst will nab SMU or perhaps Memphis from the AAC (thus minimizing the 'loss' to UAB's new conference) and retain 12 members...

...but I still think the odds are against the PAC retaining at least half of the current members 'long-term'...

RE: Pac 12 members have agreed on terms in Grant of Rights
Although realignment is a crack pipe I love to toke...I'd be glad for the good of CFB if this were true.

I think this would silence all the craziness for at least a few years.

Pac-12 at 10.
Big 12 at 12.
Big Ten at 16.
SEC at 16.
ACC at 14.
Notre Dame.

Let's live with that new reality for a while (4-5 years?) without suffering whiplash at every turn.

Getting the TV deal done this early in June helps SDSU out

Somebody reported that the media deal was done, but the hangup was the GORs. The meeting was to talk about the legal issues of the GORs that Colorado people have to look at with lawyers. The meeting Friday will be to know everybody that staying in the PAC 12 is good for them.

It's a good bet that the Aztecs' calendar is a factor in this timing.

(No archaeological puns intended.)

I take Scheer and Ross's words with a grain of salt. The media have been pushing to get schools to jump all this time. The GORs deal would not happened unless the deal was already made.

1. I don't buy it. When a conference signs a GOR they announce it through a network sports department so the whole world knows they are off the table and secure. They don't leak it through liars and PR people with an agenda which are already doubted.

2. When a GOR is signed it will be binding, not based upon contingencies.

3. When a major network sports department states it and it is not based upon contingencies, I'll believe it.

If unequal, merit based revenue distributions is the only thing they've agreed on, they better get a rock solid TV deal to offset that.

I have not read all of Conzano's article but Scheer and Dellenger seem accurate. The media rights deal is the most important piece, which has not been agreed to. There are lots of other important issues (e.g. revenue sharing, advertising rights, tertiary media rights such as radio) that need to be agreed upon and apparently they have been. Everything is still contingent upon an acceptable media deal however.
