Someone create an AAC BBS group out on ESPN so we can throw our brackets out there!

There are a couple of old ones out there, but no one has joined them and I am not sure what the password is.

8:20 tomorrow in bham.. sasser is practicing but not a full speed, sasser says if the doctor give the green light he will play...

we dont need him vs NKU.. its more so that he doesnt come cold for the r32 game..
nku is horrendous matchup against houston (for them)

I think Louisiana has a shot at taking down Tennessee.

Tennessee has lost 4 of their last 7 games. Their fanbase isn't optimistic about their chances in the tournament. Many of them have the attitude of "Oh, if we manage to get by Louisiana, we get killed in the 2nd round."

Louisiana has a REALLY good big man in the middle. Jordan Brown (6'11") is a grown man. Averaging 19 & 9 a game. I think he was really highly rated out of HS but didn't work out at his first "P5" stop.

They won their conference tourney as a 4 seed and got the auto bid.

I don’t know what to think about FAU. I’m not one to pull the “but they haven’t played anyone line” because as a Memphis fan I’ve heard that bs enough through the years. I do think we got the most favorable bracket to have a chance at a Cinderella run though from a **** seed. Whether it ends up being Memphis or not it seems like the chaos region. Now watch it go chalk all the way.

you could have gotten a way better 8/9 matchup...from a pregame perspective

fau hasnt played anyone is an important line ... the line doesnt didnt make sense with houston /memphis because we played atleast 1 great in the non con... the debate vs us was "we didnt earn" which brings up "quality of team vs earned"-- you beat the #5 and hen play a bunch of scrubs, from beating the at #5 team we know yo uare good

fau is different in that they havent played anyone ot gauge, its not a quality vs earned debate.. we just dont know how good they are..
which is why they arent the best 8/9 matchup.. we know what Illinois, west virignia and Maryland are

fau "could" be the easiest 8/9 or the ycould drastically be the hardest... they are top 25 in everyone human and computer poll, and their shooting percentages are absurd.. are those percentages because they played no one or because they are that good

Most likely a combo of good shooting and poor defense.

Most of the time when someone says a team “hasn’t played anyone” they are just implying they aren’t good not that no one really knows. I really have no idea what to expect and it doesn’t seem like Vegas does either with it basically being a pick ‘em. I wouldn’t be surprised by a double digit scoring margin final.

FAU is good and is capable of beating any team in the entire bracket on a good night.

I don’t think they have the intensity and consistency to sustain a final four run, whereas Memphis has shown that capability against top teams already.

FAU Memphis is a heavyweight battle that either team is capable of winning by double digits. The narrow Vegas edge to Memphis is IMO fair.

Sorry maybe I’m in the “wrong thread “ but this should be the biggest AAC game of the week for all the right reasons AND all the wrong reasons (F the Commitee) but is still the most amazing second round matchup on the board and we get it in round one!

What other first- or potential second- round games have complicated backstories like FAU/Memphis?

Future/former rivals or coach/player going against his old team, etc…

Providence/Kentucky. Cal said Hopkins wasn’t good enough to play for him and glued him to the bench. Transferred to Providence and is their best player.
