I disagree.. this one should be really interesting, I've probably watched more Troy outside of anyone other than USM. This game is gonna be IMO a wild scramble from opening tip-off.

Troy is a grand total of 9 points away from having wins over #22 San Diego State and #40 Southern Miss.

Troy has a good team. We're just short on depth because of injuries, and it's been hard to overcome. I'm curious what the crowd looks like for Troy tonight.

I never count that as a good stat to use, although I know people do. By that argument, we could say USM is only 13 points from being undefeated.

What if you caught a good team on a bad night, or a bad team when they had a really good night?

Just admit when your team loses, unless the refs screw you over (yeah, i'm looking at you UNLV bettors 03-razz ), then you're allowed to ***** for 2 days :)

As long as your team is beating all the teams it's supposed to beat (everyone with a NET lower than you and either beating or nearly beating teams above you.)

Troy's arena looks nice. Wish they could get people into it.

Players are going to need to start wearing pads if the refs are going to be like this every game.

Good game Georgia Southern. You were mad men today, seemed like that entire first half you couldn't miss.

Extremely, extremely frustrating that we didn't call a timeout at any point at the end of the game.

GS now 3-0 in Sun Belt play after mostly handling Marshall all night.

04-cheers

I'll drink a beer win or lose. I try to not let the losses get me down.

And that's a hell of a quote....

Is Georgia Southern always so deadly shooting and passing? It seemed like nothing could go wrong all game.

Refs blow a clear cut traveling call, call it a shooting foul, Coastal goes to the line down 1, hits both, takes a 1 point lead on free throws, App misses the last shot but tips it in with .9 seconds to go. Ballgame.

App 63-Coastal 62

Haven’t seen video posted yet but I’ll link it when I see it.

We have played 3 games in this league and what I have noticed is they do not call a walk.

I will answer your question, NO! It is typical Danny defense. GA Southern had at least 11 layups in the first half and probably that many in the second. Credit to GA Southern coach, he watched what JMU did and copied it.

I don't know about a basketball game, but there's an excellent Brick Layers convention going on in Mobile right now.

If the Cajuns hang onto their 14-point lead against USM it'll be GS and ULM tied for first after the first 3 games. Bet no one called that.

Hell, I didn't think we'd win 3 conference games, period!

For the most part, no.

JMU's coach was hired away from GS after the 2019-20 season. Under Byington, GS could light up the scoreboard, but got killed on the boards and lost a ton of games in the final minutes of each half.

Since Burg came along, it's been a total 180. I give GS credit for never quitting, but it's been 2+ years of watching teams grind like hell on defense to keep us close while never having an offensive answer to put us over the top.

But Hanner is an X-factor. It's one of the smallest capacity venues in the SBC and likely the oldest and least maintained, but if a decent crowd shows up, it's a hornets nest. Our fans aren't the greatest and the student section is a shell of what it used to be, but there seems to be some residual karma. If you walk into Hanner and GS catches a few breaks and/or the crowd gets going, it's pretty much lights out.

I hate being right, when it means Marshall loses, but Dan should have retired in 2019 right after the CIT win or whatever. Gone out on top, not forced out as a joke.
