Creighton had mentioned they'd like to add a few guys BEFORE next semester starts in January. Could he be one of those guys, or a February guy?

I would say DE Jefferson Adams is a lock and a February guy. He actually told me that currently, his hometown team (he is from Ypsi so Eastern) is his #1 right now. I said he really like Eastern a couple of days ago because that's when we had said that to me. And has since said I could talk about it.

WR Marcello Bussey is also very likely, however, he is one I am not as sure about since he kinda committed and decommited. Basically, he told the coaches he was ready and willing to come to Eastern but when signing day came, he backed out. It was the reason you saw his name on the ESPN+ signing day show.

A couple of other guys that are real possibilities at getting are OT Chad Schuster (Syracuse), OT/G Owen Snively (Colorado State), CB Charles Amankwaa (Akron), and WR Sterling Berkhalter (North Carolina A&T).

I think rounding out the class with those 6 guys would be great. We probably only get 3 of those. But still great additions.

I am surprised you didn't mention the TE position with Daly or Little.

Tyler Little committed to Arkansas state a couple of days ago

Ryan Daly I was told is unlikely because New Mexico State is recruiting him like there is no tomorrow
The visit went well but we aren't the front-runner because of NMS
But the coaching staff are still excited about him
The likely hood is low but possible

It is kinda on me for not including Ryan but I was very doubtful that he would be coming here
Sorry :(

Thanks.

Edified, I appreciate all the insight. you seem to have an inside track and it's awesome to hear

I think the gaps left to fill on this team are going to be on the offensive line and linebacker position. Every other position seems deep. You guys know how impressed I am with Sparacio and Kline but I'm not sure what is behind them. The O-line is incredibly impressive with Johnson, Howie, Dooley and Dmitri coming back but we had serious talent gaps when Howie went out. I think we need a JUCO and portal guy for depth and to have back for the '24 season.

Echo Steve's comments. We have good talent at OL and LB, but not enough depth for rotations (LB) and injuries (OL).

BTW, I know nothing about Jefferson Adams. Details? Has he been out of H.S. a few years? Where?

I had not heard of him either, looked him up on 247. Looks like he graduated from Ypsi in 2020, he was in 247's database but not ranked and had committed to Morgan State. Looks like he ended up Hocking CC though and is now a three star recruit, 45th best overall JUCO in the country and #4 edge player. He had 10 sacks this past season. He has offers from Eastern, WMU, Akron, New Mexico, UMass, BG, Western Kentucky, Buffalo, and Ball State. 6'4" 240 lbs. Looks like he would be a great pickup!

I am waiting on a couple more things to happen not just for Eastern but in general

Need another LB that can play in 2023. Not much depth at that position.

Major need if we switch out of the 4-2-5. And we didn't sign anyone to step in and play in 2023. Again, I haven't seen us mentioned with a transfer or JUCO LB.

Terrance Saunders was evaluated and ranked by 247, he is now a 3-star and a the #15 player in the state of Kansas. That also moved us up to the #2 class in the MAC behind CMU.
