Does that mean one surprise left?

BTW, will Feb. be mostly transfers???

We will lose X number of players (gain new scholarships that we do not know of as of today) and give those scholarship for 2023/4 to mostly transfers???

Not sure who the 18 are he references. These are the 16 I thought we knew about:

1. Malik Tullis 6'0 260 DL Fairburn GA
2. Jaivian Norman 5'10 185 DB Springfield
3. Luke Fletcher 6'3 245 DE. Port Huron MI
4. Cade Dobbs 6'1 160 DB Cocoa FL
5. Byrce Eliuk 6'1 220 LB Linden MI
6. Trenton Van Boening 6'6 OT Libertyville IL
7. Cedric Anton 6'3 245 TE Rabun Gap GA
8. Messiah Blair 6'7 225 DE Detroit MI
9. Makhail Wood 5'10 160 WR Hoschton GA
10. Deion Brown 5'8 155 St. RB Louis MO
11. Daiquan White 5'11 170 DB Fairburn GA
12. Kevion Wellington 6'2 260 DT Indianapolis IN
13. Terrence Saunders 6'4 290 OL Stillwell KS
14. Kellen McDonough 6'5 260 OL Pittsburgh PA
15. Ike Udengwu III 6'3 195 QB Mt San Antonio JUCO CA
16. Joseph Walker Jr. 6'5 200 WR Indianapolis IN

So far everyone that has signed is from that list.

I feel like I'm doing an election night broadcast... 03-lmfao

We have passed 9:30 on the East Coast and 7:30 a.m. Mountain time. The only time zone yet to hit '7:30' is the Pacific time zone (Ike Udengwu).

Arguably we could be done within the next hour (when Ike signs). Unless, of course, our last surprise is from Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, etc. 03-lmfao

So we should have 17 signees soon with Ike due after 10:30.

Good point. Daly recently visited. Correct?

The presumption is that any recent visitor is a possible signee. Ypsilanti in December would not be confused with say Miami FL where a weekend trip in December is a nice thing. 03-cloud9

Ugo Nosike it is. That would bring us to 18 (assuming Ike signs).

RE: Football National Signing Day December 2022
I'm getting to think that FEBRUARY signing period will be more eventful. Unless something drastic happens today we have zero (or possibly one) D-I transfer (I'm betting on zero, though).

That would mean we'll fill holes left by player transfers presumably in February mostly with FBS or FCS transfers. The most obvious case, we unexpectedly lose a player at X position. C.C. may decide to fill that slot with a D-I transfer, lest we lose a contributor at that position.

No different that at say a doctor's office or hospital. Lose two R.N.s and one LPN want to hire three to replace them.

Could be. Probably depends on if/how many guys we lose to the portal between now and February.

Big JUCO DT. Lots of depth there now. Nice pick-up.

I think these transfers happen in phases or waves.

The first group are players looking for more playing time, typically buried on the depth chart. They have nothing to lose by announcing their intentions early.

The second group might be those looking for another school with a more storied football program, say a P5 school. Example: Ben Bryant. This is what we fear. A recruit who signs with us, plays well and then thinks he wants to try say P5. Another example, Chad Ryland.

With our bowl game less than 24 hours ago, we do not know which players had transfer in their mind yesterday and waiting until after the bowl game.

Teams not playing bowl games, their players could announce after their last 2022 game. No benefit to wait. Announce weeks ago and sign elsewhere today.

I can say that after talking to a couple of coaches that the graphic that says 18 was made a couple of days ago
I knew one of the surprises was going to be Ugo
I am waiting on a couple more things to happen not just for Eastern but in general

Daly did visit right before the bowl game. Nosike is a solid pickup. Bounceback D1 from Arizona.

No JUCO or transfer WRs. When is the last time that has happened? Is that a vote of confidence for the guys already on the roster?
