RE: FCS Semifinals - #3 NDSU vs #7 IWU
Speaking of playoffs. I tried watching the other FCS semi to pass time before the Lending Tree Bowl but, there's snow and it make me feel cold sitting in my office so I had to shut it off.

Agreed. They just don’t see it that way yet.
All one has to do is ask JMU fans which theyd rather be in. Last year before the invite, almost ALL of them said they’d rather be in the fcs playoffs. Now ask them.
Yep, I thought I'd miss the playoffs but the pros would outweigh the cons going FBS. I don't miss them one bit. If you pop in the NDSU board you see some of their fans talk about how they want to play for a national championship instead of some toilet bowl and things like that. Reminds me of past years where App/Marshall/etc fans would try to tell us we won't miss a thing about FCS and a lot of us would disagree.
It's all great and fun, but you've just gotta experience both to realize how much less FCS means.
Just wait until next year, Brother, and you're going to Myrtle Beach, or Boca Raton, FL, or Mobile in December and playing a football game. OR playing a P5 team in Annapolis or Texas.
When we played Ole Miss in 1997 (Motor City Bowl - Detroit, MI), it was so freaking awesome! It was better than the previous year's undefeated National Championship run.
In our first FBS season:
*We were down significantly to WVU only to come roaring back to take the lead in the 4th QTR, but couldn't hold on. That team had NFL players Mark Bulger, Amos Zereoue, Anthony Becht, Jerry Porter, Wes Ours, and Curtis Keaton.
*Defeated one of the most historic 1-A programs in Army where Randy Moss created his most well-known highlight clip (hurdling a would-be tackler)
*Won the division and the conference.
*Played an SEC team in our first bowl since the 1948 Tangerine Bowl (a 7-0 loss to Catawba because our coach Cam Henderson, chose to coach the basketball team instead) That game was back and forth until the Ole Miss scored with little time left.
Oh, by the way, that Ole Miss team had John Avery and Deuce McCallister.
So much better than 1-AA. We finished 10-3.
Our Curtis Keaton? Totally forgot he played for WVU before JMU. He was a beast.

This. I cannot wait for a bowl. This season was the most excited I’ve been on a week to week in a long long time following JMU. The give a damn factor of every team is really what does it for me. FBS >>>> FCS.

But you all also EARNED your way into a nearly perfect situation in the Sun Belt. When the Belt began conversations with the disgruntled CUSA teams (USM, Marshall, and ODU), I think JMU decided to throw the thumb (among other appendages) toward CUSA because they FINALLY saw the vision of what could be created.
But every SBC president saw the value in JMU as a valuable member. And thus was created a sleeping giant. A true and genuine welcome to FBS. The ride is good. Just like when you come home and she.... the ride is good.
