South Florida New Head Coach is...

God bless Mike Leach
Mike Leach wouldn't be unemployed for long if Ms State let him go. Has he locked another kid in a scary, dark closet, or is this just the typical "we should be better than top 25 and 8-4" chatter?
Leach has been there 3 years, going 4-7, then 7-6, now 8-4 with an expectation of a pretty good bowl game. Ms State has had one season since 2000 that was better than 8-4 + a bowl win...why in the world would they be trying to run Leach out of town for anybody at this point? They should give that man a raise.
Speaking selfishly as a regular opponent of theirs, I would like to encourage any Ms State Administrator types on this board to fire Leach with immediate effect and hire somebody, anybody else. Deion? Sure. There's a chance he might do better than the Pirate, go for it!
I will fill you in, the rumors are saying he has serious health issues, and he is needing to retire

They hired Brian Harsin, and they went downhill. Boise State is still in the running for both Big 12 and PAC 12. I do wonder if BYU will throw a wrench in the sprocket on a campaign to have more Big 12 schools to vote against adding any PAC 12 schools when they kept BYU from joining them? Lets just say there are bitter feelings there.
Need a new head coach? Andy Avalos just won Mountain West coach of the year and Taylen Green a.k.a. Vince Young version 2.0 just won freshman of the year. After the UTEP debacle, Avalos fired the worst offensive coordinator in college football and Bachmeyer, the statue of a quarterback, entered the portal And they have only lost one game since then.

I found a barstool sports article saying that he had a bad cough, leading to speculation that he might resign. I really hope this is accurate, we could bring him in as our OC.
