Nothing new. So calm down!
And look how it's working out. I like Hammock, and he's a die hard Huskie, but it's like hiring a relative to work in your business. Hard not to let emotion get in the way of making decisions when things aren't going well.

I left at halftime. This team quit or is just bad. Either way that was embarrassing.

Probably just gave up. Why risk an injury or play hard to get to 4-8. This game was meaningless, except to the seniors. To get blown out by 1-9 Akron is just icing on the cake for this season.

Rough year injuries happen in football obviously. But this was a tough one. Pick a D coordinator and let the other guy go. Sucks but that’s life.
There’s some talent here still. TH still massaging his approach to coaching I’m sure. I’d like to see him get at least 2 more years. We shall see

Hammock is officially now 17-27 (.386) through four seasons with three losers in four years. Prior to his arrival NIU went a decade with only one losing season and that down season was still a five win season. His resume is next level bad when you consider he took over a winning program.

Today's performance was exactly what I was expecting from AKRON. Going to deKalb is a pain in the ass for most Mac teams, they were 1-9 on the road , thought they would just call it in like many poor MAC teams do late in the year, but the HUSKIES called it in. Lines got beat, damn was not expecting that to happen. Walk on QB throwing ints expected, missing starting caliber WRs and 4th or 5th string RB, I'm not expecting big yards, but I was expecting better from the guys upfront.

I love the thought of Hammock doing well. He is a nice guy Also. But anything short of seriously competing for Detroit next year assuming Rocky is and stays healthy means it is time to go.

I agree. I want him to be successful. I think most people personally like him, and I certainly want him to do well. I think he should get one more year, and if he can’t produce, pull the plug. The next guy needs to have some head coaching experience. Get a hungry FCS guy like Jerry Kill when he was at SIU. I think a lot of this can be explained by his lack of experience coordinating all the pieces of a football program. If you’re going to do a lot with a little—which you have to do at a school like NIU—you really need to know how to run a whole football program. Hammock doesn’t have that experience. At any rate, he’s not getting fired this season so we are stuck with him at least through next year.

Cremascoli wasn't a walk-on, but NIU was his only FBS offer. They probably weren't expecting to play him this season (much less starting multiple games), but with Lombardi and Hampton injured, and them seemingly not trusting Lynch to be the clear 3rd string QB, you basically get what you'd expect from a non-highly recruited true freshman quarterback.

I'm pretty sure he was a walk on. Just googled his name and the words "walk on", about 10 articles popped up. He accumulated almost no stats at New Trier in a run heavy offense. Which is the same as our boy Lomax.

Coastal Carolina #23 and without QB McCall all of the sudden is vulnerable and loses 47-7 to James Madison. I admit this season was a bust, but missing your top QB is tough to overcome- Rocky can be the difference in a big turnaround season next year.

Left after 3Q.
We suck.
I fear we are regressing back to the 90s. The MAC is terrible and we are at the bottom.
Good riddance 2022. I hope for better things in 2023, but not likely. Was hoping for a shot at Norte Dame in 2024, kiss that goodbye. Rocky may get us a win or two but I feel like we may go through a long losing streak after that.

The positives, which are not game-related at all, was the free jersey and Fatty's prior.
Otherwise, it felt like there wasn't much effort from our team but just the motions.
A game positive-- Tucker got to break 2k yards receiving. He was clearly hobbled out there and just gritting it out.

Well, at least one Huskie is having another great year. Jordan Lynch is getting his second state title at Mount Carmel. Was hoping Rita would pull off the upset last week but fell short. Tip my cap to Jordan Lynch.

Rivals had him with offers from NIU, Drake and St. Thomas.

Cremascoli also tweeted about getting an offer from NIU, tagging Hammock and Eidsness as well as Edgy Tim. Also tweeted pics of him signing what appears to be a LOI.

100% agree, QB performance makes all the difference for teams now (IMO QBs have increased in importance over the past 2 decades).
If we fell so far in one year, I hope we can rebound that much next.

What does that say about the coaches/culture?
A lot of fans are talking about culture issues in the program. I hope someone can expand on the culture of our football program. Are the coaches recruiting players that have character issues? Do we have players that lack leadership ability? Do we have players that do not work hard? Are the players lazy? Culture is defined by the coaches, so is the head coach at fault for recruiting players with issues?

Rocky’s health should have nothing to do with it. He is 17-27. It is his job to win with/without Rocky. So what do we do when Rocky graduates….fold the program? Injuries happen…..it is football. We just got destroyed by Akron……whose only prior win was against St. Francis of Pennsylvania. Whether Rocky plays one play, or, the entire schedule next year should make no difference.
