You'll find lots of friendly tailgaters all around campus that will offer food/beverages. We have a decent size campus. Some of the nicer/historical buildings on campus would be Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Bldg, Alumni House, Honor House, Trent Lott Center, Scianna Hall, Bennett Auditorium, Cook Library, to name a few. Campus is situated right on HWY49 and Hardy Street/98 which is the main thoroughfare that runs through Hattiesburg. Lots of businesses/restaurants all along Hardy/98 and downtown Hattiesburg (about a mile or 2 east of campus). Lots of chain eateries along Hardy. Some food recommendations would be Crescent City, Hattiesburgers and Blues, Fairley's Wings, The Porter, Keg and Barrel, Tbones Records & Cafe, Goldpost, Glorybound Gyro, The Midtowner, 4th Street Bar, Patio 44, Shipley Donuts (best donuts in the world when they are hot/fresh, must go early in the morning).

Ropers was a redneck college bar that no longer exists. It's now a liquor store.

I appreciate the info! We will more than likely just walk around and mingle with tailgaters.

Almost time to pluck them eagle feathers on national TV. I hope USM can at least make it a competitive game for all of its fans.

Yep…almost GEAUX time! Great news that both Fields and (especially) Smith are good to GEAUX for the game.

Yes, only 11 wins against them all time with 40 L's....I think. Hoping to get no. 12 tomorrow night. Then wait for Troy the following week. Could get exciting!

I’m sure our players won’t even get off the bus after hearing this.

Southern Miss fans are so rude they can’t even invite this Cajun to a tailgate party. If the shoe was on the other foot, USM fan would have half a dozen invitations! Lol

Looks like betting has this game as a tossup which sounds about right to me.
Our defensive line is top 25. Our secondary is average. Overall very strong defense.
Our offense though. Our qb throws too many interceptions, but is decent outside of that. Our running backs especially Gore is good, but he misses too many blocks. Our Center who I think is a backup keeps hiking the ball too high, our offensive line misses a few too many blocks. We have 2 good wide receivers, but overall the wide receivers aren't great. So nothing to me for offense is really bad its just nothing is good either which is making our overall offensive production poor.
I still think we win. Home field advantage.
