Keeping them guessing while also wearing down their D more and more.

It's kinda crazy considering some of the almost Mickey level stubbornness and predictability we've seen at times before this year. Last year we had that stretch of what, 10 quarters without a TD from the red zone? Painter and Horton have been huge at times, but it's not like we didn't have plenty of options last year with Wells, Thornton, VanHorse, Painter, Bracey, and of course CoJo at QB. Seemed like a very legit concern that now feels ridiculous with the way things have been this year.

cannot underestimate or overstate the value of a mobile QB. that doesn't just mean QB runs, or RPO's, or top line speed. It's the "mobility"....able to move in the pocket and make something when plays breakdown.

loved Cole. he could sling it. But his lack of elusiveness in the pocket was a weakness that made the offense more defendable.

Toddy, and Ben and even Schor before him, are/were all able to move in the pocket. That threat alone opens up soooooo much more to the offense.

You simply cannot go without it at the QB position anymore. Defenses, coaches, they are too good. if you only give them a few things to worry about, they will figure you out and stop you.

right now, defensive coaches have got to be thinking "what the hell"....they can run, throw, rpo, go deep, TE's, screens, multiple backs, four wide...we've shown almost every basic concept in a offensive playbook so far....and succeeded with it !

about the only left is the triple option....wouldn't it just be ironic at GATA if we threw that wrinkle in for a play or two Saturday. 02-13-banana

For sure, and even if TC drops back and sits in the pocket every single play just the threat makes a difference. Still, I think we had plenty of options to adjust and make defenses pick their poison throughout Cig's time here and this year I'd say we're taking advantage of that on a completely different level from ever before. Which is absolutely great to see, you always have to worry about egos and stubbornness from successful coaches so I love seeing a coach and their staff continue to improve pretty deep in to a very winning career.

Spot on! And really impressive strategy by CC ...and we are starting to disguise some of the sets too

Would be hilarious awesome trolling if we threw in the triple option this week...hahah

true.

but have you noticed how many times Toddy has sat in the pocket for hours on a play?

why is that? has our OLine really gotten THAT much better at pass protection?

or are defenses so worried about Toddy breaking off a run or moving in the pocket and forcing the defense out of position to bring a receiver open, that they just run a base D...rush four and drop back.

eventually someone will get open...and that's what's been happening a lot.

the threat of Toddy making something happen when the play "breaks down" is ever present. And forces DC's to resort to being less aggressive and more basic.

i love it! we are a pretty good offense all around this year.

I do think our o-line is much better, but this is something we knew when we had almost all freshmen and sophomores out there a few years ago.

Check my math on this, but at this point, i believe the majority on our line has been playing for 2-3 years together now.

Add to that the oline had injuries last year, and believe we had some freshmen playing? They looked pretty good as a unit by the end of the year but started off a little rough. Some of this may have been the toll of playing two seasons in one calendar year.

The big thing that had me a little worried there was that our line was pretty night and day depending on whether or not Fornadel was injured. So I was worried it might be rough all year with Fornadel gone, but hopeful that instead the extra experience and year of development would mean a ton of improvement for the guys that are back. Obviously we got the latter 04-rock

Cignetti talked today about the slow starts on offense and most of it just being mental mistakes, penalties and misreads.

They were using AState students for most of the production help. We always have issues with camera work. Our stadium was built in the late 70's during a time when games were never televised. It simply was not set up for live television. We've fixed some smaller issues with the improvements, but the major problems will always remain.

You should be able to get a free trial to fubotv or one of the other streaming services. Fubo carries the NFL Network.

I checked the NFL Network schedule last night and it showed our game. I hope that hasn't changed.

ok thanks. i’m using Fubo/Sling as an emergency, but i’ve used them a bunch of times so at some point i figure i’m going to run out of credit cards and they’ll figure out that i’m just signing up for trials over and over

seriously doubt anyone will have this same concern that i did, but in case i'm wrong, the NFL app worked perfectly. i guess they only show NFL stuff in the "Upcoming" section, even if the next item on the schedule is a college game.

Does anyone have a link to the clip where PAO trucked the Alabama safety last week? I want to see what piece of his equipment shattered at contact.

Live I thought it looked like the ear pad from inside his helmet but I never watched it back except on my phone.
