Doubt coaches change jobs at mid season.

Nope - we aren't doing this again.

Check out what i found on the scoop:

Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan has an immediate opening for a running backs coach. Candidates with special teams experience is a bonus. Interested candidates should email mpiatkow@emich.edu.

Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan has an immediate opening for a Director of Football Operations. Please send all questions to Associate AD for Football, Jeff Collett at jcollet2@emich.edu

These job postings are always a little funny. I was a running back in 8th grade, and played ST in HS because we had 20 on the roster, so... They have to post it, but these jobs are filled through the old boys network.

You should apply - just to see what happens.

That being said I would be surprised if the RB coach isnt someone with a connection to CC or one of his former assistants (Wilson DeBoer, Keen etc)

It's pretty funny that 'players should be able to engage in the free market like coaches' is considered 'Far Left' but hey welcome to my side.

Right? Then it becomes “the transfer portal is out of control”…while it’s totally acceptable and understandable that there’s a mass exodus of assistant coaches across the country every year.

Per the scoop:

Eastern Michigan: Florida Memorial (NAIA) defensive coordinator / defensive line coach coach Curtis Terry has accepted a position on Chris Creighton' staff, per source.

I just dont want to thread to fall into that hole like so many others have.

This curtis terry is a neat hire. played at OSU in the mid 00s and has low level coordinator experience.

If '79 guessed this one, I want him to pick some lottery numbers for me.

That's a really weird hire
We only have the one coaching slot open
And that's going to be a running backs coach
So with this guy was hired as an analyst?
To me that doesn't make sense

That is a name that is been brought up very often
Think about that in one off season he went from Eastern to Minnesota to Washington and possibly could come back to Eastern
All in one off season

Looks like Terry was special teams coordinator at Central State. He played for Taver Johnson at OSU.
And Shaq Vann stayed one months in the Twin Cities! That’s crazy.

No I didn't see this one coming, but it does raise the question how many folks on the football staff and what is the impact on the budget?

RE: Coaching Carousel Thread 2022
The Athletic just rated CC the 13th best G5 coach. Let see what they have to say:

13. Chris Creighton, Eastern Michigan (2022: No. 15)
Creighton has brought remarkable consistency to what was arguably the worst program in the country before he arrived, with five bowl games and four winning seasons over the last seven years. The nine-win season in 2022 was the second-winningest season in school history, going back to 1891.

Half the folks on this board wanted Creighton gone last season and lo and behold he surprised them all by getting 9 wins a bowl victory co MAC West champs and a number rated recruiting class.

Sometimes these fan forums aren't exactly a fountain of good thinking.

The difference between one of the best G5 coaches and out the door is a few wins during the 2nd half of the season????

I'm with '79. I have always been a big fan of C.C.

I believe I've indicated that the difference between say 7 - 5 and 6 - 6 or even 5 - 7 isn't much and can be a good or bad break here and there.

People wanted him gone? Or people just wanted him to do a better job?

I understand your point although it is still kind of a 'shape up or ship out...' approach some took.

I think there was or were one or two or whatever who had that thinking.

I’ve supported Creighton! I was critical of our running offense and running defense but saw improvement last season.

They complained about his recruiting and never getting over .500 and how years he has been here yada yada. Hopefully this year he delivers a MAC Championship.
