For a group claiming there is no rivalry...ODU sure seems worked up about JMU...I don't quite get it. Most JMUers think it's great that this rivalry is back

I’d like to play JMU for the last game of the season. Also I want them undefeated and ranked.

Twice? Twice is not a lot, unless it's "struck by lightning" or "won Powerball." Certainly not posts or football games from the Obama administration. Man, you guys get a little attention and suddenly think you're the star of the show.

I can't say for sure, since I have only been a Liberty fan the last 4 years. They sort of have been dual rising programs that are only 90 minutes away. Maybe it was JMU cursing out Tony Bennett, the UVA basketball coach, who has close ties to Ritchie McKay, Liberty's men's basketball coach. I think there's some feeling Marshall and ODU would have stayed in CUSA if not for JMU. Obviously there's the fact that ODU, Marshall, JMU, App. State, and Coastal Carolina, all potential local rivalries, all ended up in one conference without Liberty. It is what it is though and Liberty will make the best of it in CUSA.

Fair enough, friend. Many (most?) people who don’t care for Liberty feel that way because of politics. I think Liberty could be the BYU of evangelical Christianity. Their policies and student expectations don’t seem very different. That’s fine. They’re a private school and if kids want that, fine. But the administration, chiefly Jerry Jr., has done a lot of damage due to their very public choices. I think if Liberty can turn its rep around, it will be welcomed down the road in a lot of places it’s not now.

Your beef with JMU seems to be more rivalry-based, and I respect that. VT had a chip on its shoulder for decades because its main rival, UVA, was in the ACC while Tech struggled to find a home. I see some of that with Liberty and the other Virginia schools now.
