Maryland is definitely one we could get to Bham. They have money issues and recruit down this way like they do in Charlotte.

How about Rutgers?

Maybe, if they have an interest in playing in Bham. Not sure they would since they don’t really recruit here.

Two big factors:
1. They need a reason to play. TV, money, fulfilling a promise to a recruit (s) tp play in their area.
2. They think they can beat you and get a road W. If they are worried about a loss, they will back out or not even entertain it. (A former FBS coach told me this).

UNC played at App State last week and almost lost. UNC is playing at Georgia State today and Georgia State has the chance of an upset.
Georgia State is up 28-21.

Someone needs to tell Mark the we need to do a Home and Home with UNC in Basketball and Football soon. The 2013 Bartow game was a fun one.

Did anyone else catch the fact that Bama is playing AT G5 South Florida in 2023? I'm reasonably sure that this is about marketing and recruiting in the Tampa area, but I can't remember Bama ever playing at a G5 school before. Also important to keep in mind that South Florida and UAB will be in the same conference in 2023. Interesting.

I'm not suggesting the Crimson Turds will ever schedule UAB, but I continue to maintain that it is very possible to find P5 programs that are willing to come to Birmingham and Mark Ingram is doing UAB a disservice by not scheduling them.

Yeah I can’t think of a time a team that big and perennial top 5 team has played at a G5; HOWEVER it’s not like their playing at Charlotte’s stadium or a small MAC stadium, they are playing it at an NFL stadium that Tampa Bay shares with USF.

But I agree that Mark needs to scrap those ULM games for a 2-for-1 or H&H with a middle of the road P5 team.
