He's just a troll who's mad that his school is still a member of the MAC. (Which ain't a bad league, actually.)

LOL I was wondering why he trolls so hard.

...I WILL say in defense that ONE of the reporter/twitterers/whatever had a post about KU 'exploring' moving to the Big East in bball and indy in football, but it was then noted that tweet was deleted as bogus... logistically, it sorta makes sense, but financially, not even close... I mean, if you even brought in the Zags, and perhaps even Duke (for the impending ACC implosion? 03-drunk ) with KU to the B.E., even THAT improbable scenario wouldn't touch the $$$$$ as a BIG XII member, unless they get a LARGE 'extra portion' deal from the B.E....

I say the BIG10 and Big12 kill off the PAC (members vote to disband the conference leaving Oregon State & Washington State homeless). Boise stays in the unchanged MWC. OSU & WSU are both offered but refuse full memberships, instead opting to place their Olympic sports in the MWC in exchange for limited scheduling alliances in football.

Definitely a possibility. Or the Pac could add SDSU and UNLV to help offset the loss of both the Los Angeles schools.

The problem is UNLV has long been the dregs of the MWC. For a PAC that needs good teams are they going to risk adding UNLV? I think it’s a toss up between UNLV and Fresno which sits in the center of the Central Valley and had branded themselves successfully as the valley’s team spanning Modesto to Bakersfield. Fresno has as many MWC titles as SDSU and it’s fan base is passionate like Midwest clubs. Just not sure they take UNLV over them.

That's true. However, UNLV can boast that it plays in Allegant Stadium, one of the newest stadiums in the NFL. (It also hosted the most recent Pac-12 Conference Championship game.) And let's not forget that UNLV is a historic basketball program with a national championship.

Fresno State and UNLV would be a nice combo to add, though, for all the reasons you stated about your school.

In my opinion it's a toss up between Boise and Fresno. Fresno only is getting a nod because they may want a fourth option to get a California game.

Man I don't know... Fresno not too far from being an FCS callup, while BSU has a trophy case full of BCS/NY6 hardware, and is actually somewhat of a national brand.

Fresno has as many MWC title game appearances as Boise and SDSU, has a baseball national championship, larger facilities than either and was a WAC member when Boise was still a JC.

Saying they are an FCS call up is ignorant

Fresno St and San Diego St if just 2. They bolster lost Cali interest but don't replace it.

Both are high quality athletic departments.

I saw the same tweet. I was going to give Kit-Cat props for mentioning it before I saw that it was a bogus tweet.

SDSU has already been mentioned in its own thread; so has CSU. What about BSU? Would pac (and big xii) academic snobbery continue to exclude them? if not, would both conferences make a play for BSU?

Assuming both conferences are interested, and finances are equivalent, who would BSU choose?

No SDSU, CSU, Hawaii and Nevada maybe a Texas school .

Colorado State's poor spot is holding them back since they share the same tv market with Colorado. PAC 12 needs new markets.

UNR
San Diego State
Boise State
Hawaii
New Mexico
UTEP
North Texas
UTSA

Those 6 have the tv markets.

Most of those are smaller markets than Fresno DMA not to mention the greater Central Valley from Bakersfield to Modesto which is equivalent to San Diego in population

Fresno State is an R2, and not really known as beating P5 schools as much.

UNR academics
San Diego State merket
UTSA academics and market
North Texas academics and market of Dallas/Fort Worth
Hawaii for academics and Asian markets
New Mexico in the largest city in the state and academics.
Boise State national draw in viewership, fastest growing academics.

Compared to the list above????? You do know we beat UCLA last year for the fourth straight time. In the past 5 years we have wins over: UCLA, Arizona State, BYU, Houston, not to mention the P5 wins previously. UNR, Hawaii and New Mexico have never won the MWC. Get real.

Yes Fresno is an R2 but Cal and club could change that in a heartbeat by changing the state code that prohibits Fresno State and San Diego State from offering their own doctoral degrees.

Wait. Did you beat us in a bowl game? I don't remember. (You probably did; I've slept since then. lol)

It does but their fans rarely show up. The best teams by attendance in the MWC are Boise, SDSU and Fresno. SDSU’s numbers were off the last 2 years as they played in Carson. DeRuyter hurt the Fresno numbers a bit as the fans wanted him out.

I'd steer way clear of them regardless of the conference.

RE: Boise State: Pac 12? Big Xii?
I don't believe Kansas is moving to the BE.
Maybe the original tweet was a what if response to the B12 being the conference to crumble? Could the P12 pull a TCU move on the B12 and invite BYU and Houston before they actually join the B12? With them and SDSU on board and assuming the B1G is done with the P12, could that get OkSt, Texas Tech and either Baylor or TCU to move west? ACC could grab WVU and Cincy. Would Kansas find the MWC or AAC more attractive than the BE, which could now start to sponsor FB again?
B12 leftovers
KU
K State
Iowa St
Baylor or TCU
UConn
FB only
Temple (Back to A10 to replace St Louis who moves to BE as # 16)
Navy
UCF (other sports in A10 replacing Fordham who goes back to Patriot)

again, i dont expect this just throwing it out there

Yeah if the PAC took that boat anchor called UNLV it might offset losing SDSU. ;-)
