If you tuned in to the Jan. 6th hearing last week you might have noticed that there was a person in a "RAGIN' CAJUNS" beanie attempting to force his way into the capitol and subvert our nation's democracy. Not exactly a proud moment for our University.
So you’re one of the 12 people that watches MSNBC.
Just making a joke. Not trying to make this a political thread

I met a girl at a swap meet in Indio California with a Southern Miss shirt on. She actually attended USM too

I do believe there is a Georgia State flag hanging in a bar called The Red Zone in a small Mississppi town called Diamondhead. The owner probably will tell you how he met Coach Hunter

RE: Strangest/Coolest/Farthest place you've seen your school represented
Ok, a few years ago 12 of my best friends, who I’ve known all of my life, took an epic 2.5 week trip through Europe….4.5 days in Germany (made it to Oktoberfest, which was on a lot of our bucket lists) and the rest of the time from one end of Italy to the next. Of the 12, 8 of us are UL grads, and 4 are grads from that school in refineryville.
Our group was smart enough to pack along a UL flag, which we unfurled at numerous stops along the way. The 4 outcasts mostly were ok with it, but that eventually wore out, lol.
Here we are* at that place in Pisa, that has a tower that leans a bit.

At a random bar in Nassau Bahamas I randomly stopped at for a drink, noticed the Chanticleer logo on a rugby jersey handing on the wall. Turns out a local rugby team uses the Coastal logo, with the same color scheme.
At my honeymoon in Jamaica, we randomly ran into multiple couples who went to Coastal.

Was studying abroad in London (USM sponsored) and randomly ran into another student who was on vacation with her all USM alumni family (completely unrelated to the Study abroad program). So that was pretty neat/ironic.

We had a picture in our department at USM of a few soldiers displaying a USM flag while deployed.
Have had a couple pics of GS grads in Iraq and/or Afghanistan make the rounds as well.
My mother in law was in a hotel fitness center in Germany when a guy came in wearing a GS sweatshirt. Turned out to be a former player.
Yeah I'd imagine most schools have had something like that.

Just talked to a guy in the locker room of the Planet Fitness here in Bismarck, North Dakota who's wearing a "We are...Marshall" t-shirt! He said he was a junior working on his B.A. at the university when the football team plane crash happened. I told him as a Coastal alum I'm very excited about having the Thundering Herd join us in the Sun Belt...

It’s crazy how USA is the youngest school, but has the biggest endowment.
8 of the schools founded within 15 years of each other (1898-1913)
Marshall is 50+ years older than everyone else, only school that predates the civil war?
I'm curious how long ago each school played their first football game. JMU's first game was in Oct 1972.
USA's first game was in 2009. ODU, Georgia State and UTSA started up about the same time, give or take a year.
ODU had a football team from 1930 to 1941 when we were still the Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary and Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
ODU played their first FBS game on accident in 1932. Back then we were a two-year school and played other small colleges but they got to play Miami after they sent the invite to the wrong W&M campus. Miami won that game 6 to 2. Following a conference ruling that two-year schools can no longer play freshmen and budget issues, the football program was shuttered until 2009.

So App was founded before USM, so WE are the original ROCK!
Pfft. Whatever. We were winning NCs at our Rock before you even built yours.
