Nice! Always room for a sniper like that.

Great fun at the exhibition game. Seemed like about 7000 crazy kids screaming their heads off. Not sure a lot was learned by or about the team because of the lack of competition but Suder, Bash and Tipton looked good.

Very "un-Bellarmine" like. Justin 5 assists and the entire rest of the team only 4. Justin was the only player with an assist in the first half.

Like the approach of bringing in the schoolkids to "spread the gospel of BU hoops" -- start 'em young.

Wish we could get 7K every home game.

RE: 2022-23 Season
UofL lost an exhibition to Lenior=Rhyne last night. A bad d2 team, that plays in a bad d2 league. Its hard to believe considering that UofL has plenty of long, talented players. Would love to see BU open the season with a win at the YUM! Center. It would be BU's first ever win against Louisville. Hopefully, Ben Johnson will be available, not only for the team's sake, but for his as well. I'm sure this is a game they are really looking forward to.

If Kenny Payne struggles at UofL, there will be more of the "they should have hired Scotty Davenport" talk. I for one, am very glad that the decision makers at Louisville are morons.

RE: 2022-23 Season
Wow! I don't keep up with that other university in town, athletically or otherwise, and hadn't heard. That is a bad loss.

Yeah, the Knights have never defeated the Cards in hoops, but it's bound to happen at some point if the two keep playing (hope it's in my lifetime). There have been some fairly-close losses, and I'm not sure Scotty was coaching to win the game some of those years (like those featuring the many talents of Hobbs, Kendle, the "Dowe-Jones "index, etc.)

A Bellarmine win over U of L would be a nice momentum boost for the program, locally and beyond. Certainly would not hurt recruiting.

Couldn't agree more about being glad that the U of L coach-hiring administrators are morons!

Surprised to see Suder starting, but intrigued to see what he (and Fairman, for that matter) can do. Given the injuries, I'm especially surprised that at least one of Hatton or DeVault isn't starting.

Could've sworn I already saw something last week about the $65 season tix plus free parking, but the message was definitely out on Tuesday. Really good deal and hopefully people take BU up on it.
The Ben Johnson injury is terrible news.

If that is the starting lineup, it will be a rough start to the season Bash has looked good at the practices I have attended, but he has never looked good in a game. Fairman and Devault are going to be getting in early and often. Johnson and Pfriem are the two best scorers on the team.. if Johnson is not able to return and play 100% immediately upon return, we have big problems. The good news is the immediate elevation of Suder, who may end up being a star. Everybody who has started or been a major contributor,as a freshman under Scotty has turned out to be a great player. (GOAT, Kendle, Eberhard, Troutman)

This season, if we are lucky, may look a lot like last season, ugly early with a strong finish.

Scotty said on the radio that Pfreim is now cleared for practice. He did not say when he thought he could play in a game. He has been out a long time, can't imagine he will be ready to play right away.

Did Scotty have any update on Ben Johnson?

Great game last night. Finally beat one of the Power 5 schools. Johnson looks like the real deal. As he gets healthier, I expect him to get more minutes. Good defensive effort this early in the season, especially Betz.

Yes, that was awesome.

I'm loving Hatton, Johnson, and Suder -- my new "man crushes" will be one or more of them.

Tipton and Wieland really came through, and Betz is simply clutch.

The win *has* to help recruiting!

RE: 2022-23 Season
What a sweet win. I was particularly happy to see Pfreim and Johnson play and play well.( Maybe would have liked to see a little more Johnson in the second half). Bash is making me look like a moron and I am delighted. Also, Hatton played very well. A lot of positives. Need to deal better with pressure from the the defense. Would love to see us win one or two before going into Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Funny, right down my comedy street.

Semi seriously, was Scotty limiting Bens minutes because of injury or was it just coaches decision?

RE: 2022-23 Season
Now this is interesting -- based on Scotty's quote, maybe we shouldn't count on seeing another crosstown shootout any time soon:
https://www.cardchronicle.com/2022/11/10...bellarmine

I know who this author is "in real life," and he's fairly knowledgeable about BU hoops (albeit his passion and focus is on "that other institution in town").
