RE: WAC MBB Week #17
This week got a lot more interesting after the loss to Chi St. We got a hot SFA team followed by UVU who already beat us once. Things are getting spicy. Gonna be a fun week of basketball. I’m glad I’ll be there for the season ender against UVU. Hopefully we’ll be celebrating a championship.

Not sure how many surprises will happen this week. It's still WAC basketball of course, so anything can happen.

Looks like Seattle is pretty much guaranteed at least the 2nd seed unless they somehow drop a home game against Chicago State and SFA wins out.
Would love for GCU to move up to 3rd but I assume SFA has the tie breaker against us since we only played once (at SFA) and we lost. Therefore, I think we would have to win out and SFA would have to lose to both NMSU and UTRGV. Of course, stranger things have happened in the WAC this year.

The way the WAC Tournament is set up there isn't much difference between third and fourth. Do you play the top seed in the semi-final or final assuming you win the semi-final.

RE: WAC MBB Week #17
Looking at the Wednesday and Thursday games, I’m not sure who to pick in hardly ANY of them. Lots of good matchups and battles coming this week.

Saturday (at least on the surface) has a few more clear favorites. But I’m not placing any bets this time of year. Teams are hungry.

We're tied with Lamar with <2 minutes left.

Question: Suppose UTRGV and Lamar both end up at 2-16, and they split their two head-to-head games. What is the tiebreaker to see who gets kicked out of the tournament?

You don't need to worry, Lamar has experts at blowing a lead and once you got it tied, the victory was in the books for UTRGV.

Final score RGV 67 - Lamar 63.

Lamar should've had a few conference wins this season, they played several close games. It's just that we couldn't afford to be the one they beat.

Anyway, looks like we'll get to go to Las Vegas and get stomped by (CBU? Dixie?) in the first game.

Tough loss to SFA. The Aggies had control then let it go. Too many turnovers and missed free throws cost us the game.

When NMSU plays with purpose and finishes a game, they are really good. They seem to get a lead, then back off. It is so very odd to see. Congrats to SHSU.

I was impressed by how SFAs guys played down low. They took it to us inside all night, got some timely threes and made their free throws when it counted. Congrats to SFA on the win.

NMSU was hurt with Teddy Allen being in foul trouble. I don't see SFA beating us if he hadn't sit those 15 minutes. But Congrats for taking advantage of that. We'll see you guys in Vegas in the WAC Championship game.

A good way to beat NMSU, get Teddy Allen in foul trouble He only played 23 minutes last night. He usually plays about 37-40 minutes every night. Congrats SFA.

RE: WAC MBB Week #17
Saturday should be very interesting. Can NMSU rebound and get the win it now has to have to maintain a share of the regular season championship? Will Seattle get a share with a win at Chicago State or will CSU be a spoiler. Will SFA get the win it should get at home versus RGV? A two- or three-way tie for the championship is most likely but any of the three could also wind up with sole possession of first place. WACiest thought, Sam Houston and GCU win out and the other three all fall creating a five-way tie.

We've got RGV on the road.

I'm hoping we handle business and one of the other two falter. Or both. Both would be incredibly fortunate for us. A 1 seed and then they gotta play each other to potentially play us? Please basketball gods, hear my prayer.
